Cheng's Asian House

Our orders took a bit longer than usual. There’s only two of them who take orders. Quality of food was not the same as before. The vegetables was served little cold and you can see the lump portion of cornstarch in the vegetable. The carrots were raw and hard. It’s just okay when it comes to cleanliness.

The food is great, my family loves Chinese food so we are always trying new places, this one was worth the drive, the food was delicious, not grease, was very fresh, we will be back for sure.

Placed an order online and the website said it would take 30 minutes and gave the pickup time. I arrived 5 minutes after the time estimate and there were 10 people in line ahead of me, mostly food delivery service drivers. There were 3 people working behind the counter who did not acknowledge the people in line only answering the phone, packing food, and speaking to people who’s orders were complete. After 15 minutes of waiting, I approached the counter to ask about the status of my order and was told it would be 25-30 minutes more. I decided to cancel my order, but if I had decided to wait,

Although the food was good, the packaging left a lot to be desired. The thermocol packet used to pack the chicken Taiwanese appetizer had melted. We don't know if we ate bits of melted thermocol along with the chicken.
Please make sure this doesn't happen again with other customers.

I absolutely LOVE this place and would recommend it to anyone who craves authentic Chinese food. Mr and Mrs. Cheng are amazing proprietors. They both still work at the restaurant and make the hands-down best cocktails and desserts in the area. Their tiki drinks rival some of the best I've ever had (think Smuggler's Cove in SF, Archipelago in DC, or any proper tiki dive in the Caribbean or SE Asia). The desserts are made table-side with plenty of fanfare and laughs, and are also just plain delicious. I have visited for dinner about a half dozen times over the last twelve months. The ability to customize your order for spice level, added proteins or veggies, salt level, and the like works well for me mostly. The service routinely looks like what you would expect from a family-run establishment. Try to time your order so you are waiting on the food rather than the food waiting on you so your order retains its freshness and thermal heat. I have ordered spring rolls, hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, some kind of stir fry with broccoli, and the mango mousse cake. The dumplings taste housemade

I just found out that this Chengs is the same Chengs that closed in Sterling about 8 years ago. Ever since the Sterling location closed, I haven’t been able to enjoy Chinese food. No other place has compared. My wife and I talked about how much we missed Chengs (sterling) FOR YEARS. We are overjoyed to find out that they have a second location. The food is the same (maybe have even improved!) I love this place, the owners are so lovely. Service is excellent. Honestly, the best Chinese food you’ll have.

It was a bit of let down on first visit. Garlic eggplant wasn’t garlicky and broccoli beef and twice cooked pork was so so.

I had a great memory of this place from last time. Unfortunately, this time it wasn’t good. Hot and sour soup was so blend that i didn’t really taste anything. Sesame chicken was almost meatless… they were so chewy. Chicken wrap was so so. Cucumber salad was good though. Maybe they can improve.

I don't want to give this place five stars just yet... I've only had the General Tso chicken so far... This place is awesome... The flavor and quality is one of the BEST I've had in Virginia... Look at this lunch special for $12...
