Whispering Pines Funeral & Cremation Service is a new funeral and cremation presence in the Cass, Beltrami, Hubbard, Itasca and Carlton Counties, but our funeral directors and staff have served families in these counties for several years.
Jerry Souder, Funeral Director and Manager of Whispering Pines, brings 31 years of funeral experience to the area, and Heather Landreville, Funeral Director, has served in this capacity in Walker and Park Rapids areas for over 20 years.Our desire is to continue offering our experience and service to support the families we have come to know and care about.

At the age of 17 he enlisted in the United States Navy in a career that spanned 20 years, attaining the rank of Senior Chief before his retirement. During his career he was tasked with a number of duties beyond his normal Machinist Mate duties, including shore patrol and recruiting. He was married to Sharon Stordahl.

Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
