Burlington Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Carl Sellars in 1968 on Huffman Mill Road in Burlington, NC. The business was sold to Dr. James C. Brown in 1975. In 2001, Dr. Brown moved the practice into a new building at the current location at 3496 Forestdale Drive. Dr. Brown sold the practice to Dr. April Marklin in 2004.
In September of 2017, Dr. Deanna Tickle purchased the practice from Dr. Marklin. The veterinarians and staff at Burlington Animal Hospital are very professional, dedicated, courteous, and compassionate. They take care of our pets AND the humans. My 16 yr old cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes and they have helped me to learn how to deal with this so she can live out her life as healthy as possible.

Services
Dr. Deanna Tickle is a 2001 graduate of the North Carolina University College of Veterinary Medicine. She began working for Burlington Animal Hospital as a full time veterinarian immediately after graduation. Before graduating veterinary school, she worked as a veterinary assistant at Burlington Animal Hospital from 1993-2000.
At Burlington Animal Hospital, we strive for excellence in patient care and client satisfaction. Your pet will receive state-of-the-art care from our pet-friendly, expert staff. Our clinic uses insoflurane gas anesthesia which is considered one of the safest anesthetics in the veterinary market. We use heart and respiratory monitors during surgical procedures.
We do not allow release of pets during non-operational hours of our hospital. We are not a 24 hour facility and the business is not staffed overnight. We do have kennel staff that come in on the weekends to care for all our boarding patients. We are a full service veterinary hospital, grooming and boarding facility.
I have always loved animals and I thought this would be a great career fit for me. In my spare time, I enjoy driving my classic 1966 Mustang, which you should look for in the parking lot the next time you are here-it's a beauty! I also enjoy tennis, swimming and most outdoor activities, especially in hot weather.
