We are a nature-based preschool that combines Kindergarten readiness activities with explorations in nature. Natural Start Preschool is located in Bellevue at Eastgate Park with 39 acres of hiking trails, forested areas for natural exploration, two playgrounds, a preschool garden, bright classrooms and a large indoor gym for active play.

Natural Start Preschool offers a unique nature-based curriculum that meets the developmental needs of preschoolers ages 3-5 while teaching them about the importance of the natural world. By engaging in activities both outdoors and in the classroom, children learn about the world around them through hands-on exploration and play.
The goal of Natural Start Preschool's teachers and staff is to create a warm, nurturing learning environment that offers young children daily opportunities to explore nature and provides them with a unique, hands-on learning program designed to build a solid foundation for future school experiences.
A typical day at Natural Start Preschool begins at 9:00am when the children arrive for preschool. This is a time when parents or caregivers drop off their child and help them transition from home to preschool, with support from the teachers as needed. Our daily preschool routine unfolds in a number of settings, both outdoors and in the classrooms, with a range of developmentally appropriate activities.
Natural Start Preschool offers many opportunities for parent/caregiver involvement throughout the school year. We believe that parents and caregivers are a child's first and most important teachers, and we therefore provide the option for you to be actively involved in your child's education by participating in the learning process.
At Natural Start Preschool, we believe that a healthy body is a necessary component to a child's learning and development. As such, we will provide parents and caregivers with suggestions for healthy, wholesome, nutritionally sound classroom snacks with an emphasis on fruits, vegetables, healthy proteins, and whole grains.

We love this preschool! My son has attended for two years. It's a small school, so even the teachers in the other class know your kid. My kid has some sensory issues and the teachers have been very helpful - letting me know what he gives him trouble, and also listening to me when I give suggestions for how to handle him. Couldn't be happier.
The outside time is especially valuable. The kids go outside every day, even in the rain or snow. :) They don't just get turned loose in a playground, but go on hikes and nature walks. It's fantastic!
