Gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, is an infection of the gums surrounding your teeth. Gum disease is one of the top reasons for tooth loss in adults, and because it is virtually pain-free, many patients do not know they have the disease. During each regular checkup, your hygienist will check for signs of periodontal disease by measuring the space between your teeth and gums.
There are times when it is necessary to remove a tooth. Sometimes a baby tooth has misshapen or long roots that prevent it from falling out as it should, and the tooth must be removed to make way for the permanent tooth to erupt. At other times, a tooth may have so much decay that it puts the surrounding teeth and jaw at risk of decay, so your doctor may recommend removal and replacement with an implant.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the Office staff.....I had a bill I had got sent to collection!! I have always paid and had no idea I had an outstanding balance! The office was getting a return to sender on my address in California because they are sending it snail mail....meanwhile the whole time they could have picked up the phone called me and I easily could have paid the bill immediately over the phone. I have been going to this office since they opened in 2008.....I guess I need to find another office that has office staff that care about their patients. They couldn't even apologize and had

Abenaki Dental is amazing. Dr. Tim is so nice and friendly, and the whole staff make you feel comfortable while you're there. Even though this is a dentist's office, it feels like a spa when you walk in, it's very calming. The staff is so friendly and dental hygenists (Alanna especially) are gentle and genuinely care about your wellbeing and life. They also use technology efficiently to make the experience better as a whole. It's refreshing to finally find a local dentist that is so amazing.

Competent dentist with some of the worst billing practices I have ever seen. I got a bill 6 months after my procedure with the bill in my wife's name. When questioned they stated that since I didn't respond they put it in her name. I never received anything from them, that why I didn't respond. I also never left that office without paying in full. When I questioned it they came up with many excuses. It's too bad because they do good work there. I would never spend another dollar with these people and their shady billing practices. Awful awful way to do business.

Highly recommended. I had not been to a dentist in a very long time. Two of the dentists removed a wisdom tooth and 6 other teeth cleanly and efficiently just using novicain no problem. The office - treatment room atmosphere is relaxing, refreshing decor making it a pleasant experience. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. I would take my young child there if not grown.

Truly the best out there. It's very clear that Dr. Matt Heimbach cares deeply about his patients and his craft. My wife just got her wisdom teeth removed today. This would typically be a very stressful experience for her; but Abenaki made the entire experience seamless and stress-free. The staff was incredibly friendly and thoughtful while me and our 1 year old son waited for "Momma" to get her surgery done. Matt then took the time to carefully walk me through all the details of the surgery and recovery steps in layman's terms. Then, Matt personally helped me wheel my wife and son back to our home

I never thought I would be writing a review for a dentist office. Dr. Matt Heimbach and team are always a pleasure to deal with, willing to work with you on finding care plans that work for you and your schedule and always do everything to make you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this office to any of my friends and family.

Having undergone some pretty bad experiences at the hands of dentists my whole life, I had a very high level of anxiety about visiting the dentist at all, and avoided it for years, until I finally had no choice.
Dr Matt came recommended to me by a friend, and this place has really turned me around. The staff and environment are all so comforting and calming. I am always in full control of my experience. They are completely focused on my comfort, and the quality of care I receive. I honestly could not be happier, I really just wish I had found them sooner. If you've had bad experiences like

Left this practice after the way he treated his staff and me. I spoke with him about treating staff respectfully when I complained about the way another dentist that he referred me to for a biopsy treated his staff. He admitted that sometimes he spoke to his wife who worked in the practice that way. When I was having issues with a mouth guard causing severe headaches and I asked him to adjust it he pompously referred me to a physiatrist because he felt the pain was caused by my leg length. The physiatrist totally disagreed with him and subtly suggested I find another dentist. I have never been

Like others here I was less than impressed by the professionalism and service from this practice. While the hygienist and routine work was fine (although many times had to wait for over 45 minutes in waiting area for my scheduled appointments) - the primary dentist, Matt, was intent on "selling" multiple fillings and replacement fillings using the highest cost porcelain material which increased the non-covered insurance cost dramatically. Matt also had an oversized ego and acted as though he was a primary care physician rather than a dentist. Diet advice, fitness recommendations, and

I used to like this practice, but they recently hired a breathtakingly rude and unprofessional office assistant. I'd had a question about a billing and pre-authorization matter. The office assistant responded to my concerns by being snotty for most of the call and at one point, implying that I was a liar. I draw the line at personal attacks and digs at my integrity. The dentist is honest and capable, but I'm just not willing to put up with that kind of behavior from office staff.

Had a cleaning with and root canal crown with Abenaki Dental Care. I found all of the staff to be courteous and professional. The root canal crown was amazing- They printed it right in the office meaning I didn't have to come back for a second fitting! Dr. Heimbach recommended a root canal for a troublesome tooth that let me avoid getting an implant thus saving me thousands of dollars. I will definitely be back.

I am a total fraidy cat when it comes to going to the dentist. I had very poor and traumatic experiences with dentists in the past. We met Dr. Matt outside of his practice, and after we got to know him a little bit and found out what he does for work, we gave him a shot. I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed but was scared out of my mind. Even going for a routine cleaning sends my anxiety through the roof. However, Dr. Matt (and everyone else in his office) took my concerns and fears seriously, and did everything they could to make me feel more relaxed and comfortable. I've been seeing him now
