I threw up a shingle in 2011 after interning at the Travis County Attorney's Office while awaiting my bar results. It was a great experience, but it also taught me that the harder and more noble fight was that of a criminal defense attorney. My Uncle Bruce who practices criminal defense in Travis County provided me with an office in his building and the rest is history.
The consequences of a DWI arrest are serious, and a conviction for the offenses can be devastating, - both personally and financially. A recent article in the Austin American Statesman estimated that the cost of a first DWI arrest and conviction can be as high as $15,000.00. After arrest this includes bail, towing, and legal fees.
Marijuana, cannabis, pot, weed, herb, or any other name you may have for it, is illegal to possess in Texas. Also, a conviction for Possession will automatically suspend a person's driver's license for 180 days. The suspension will be lifted after 180 days if the defendant completes a State approved15 hour Drug Offender Education Program during the 180 days.
Theft charges can range from a Class C Misdemeanor to a First Degree Felony. It is a Class C misdemeanor if the value of property is less than $100. It is a Class B misdemeanor if the value of the property is between $100 and $750. A person can also be charged with a Class B misdemeanor when the value is under $100 when that person has a prior conviction for any level of theft.
The jail release is the beginning of many attorney-client relationships. Mykal and his staff are fast and efficient in getting people released from jail. The jail release process is different in Travis County than most surrounding counties. Travis County has 24 hour magistration while smaller counties such as Williamson, Hays, Comal, and Bastrop Counties have magistration once a day in the morning.

Police had entered my apartment and took and destroyed several clean glass pipes along with seizing several grams of concentrates and flower creating an incredibly stressful and life halting felony case. i was even in possession of a few weapons that had belonged to my grandfather. Mykal knows the law and he knows the right people. I can't emphasize ENOUGH how important that will be to the outcome of someone's case. He literally saved me several thousands of dollars with his mad negotiating skillz.
