People used to call what I do "general counsel" but these days that term is often used by lawyers who never go to court, and that's not me. I go to court a lot, so I prefer to call myself a "business lawyer" who has a wide range of both litigation and transactional experience.
My litigation experience over the years ranges from breach of contract, products liability, personal injury, trademark litigation, securities fraud, consumer protection, real estate and employment law.I have also worked in all of these areas of law on the transactional side, such as drafting contracts, setting up companies, obtaining trademark registrations, drafting employee handbooks and reviewing leases.

Answer: We can assist you in selecting the appropriate entity for your business, the formation and operation of the business as well as maintenance, contracts, and litigation. Texas has a number of business entities to chose from, and we can advise you on which might be best for you. Answer: Certainly, you could do it yourself, but self-service incorporation or do-it-yourself legal kits might not be the most cost effective move.
We can also help you maintain your entity with the ongoing annual paperwork, such as resolutions, board meetings, stock and share transfers, etc. If you just want to incorporate for dirt cheap, you can get the basic certificate of formation for free on the Texas Secretary of State's website. Fill it out, file it with the Secretary of State, pay the filing fee and you're incorporated.
We perform trademark searches and trademark applications, usually on a flat fee basis of $1,000 per single class trademark. This flat fee includes the required federal filing fee of $275 per class. If there are multiple classes of goods or services, our legal fee does not go up, we just add on at cost the additional federal filing fee required for each additional class.
Andy Simmons began defending developers, contractors and subcontractors against the epidemic of construct defect lawsuits that made Southern California notorious from 1996 to 1997.
In 2003, he returned to the construction industry, serving as the in-house attorney for an international sports surfacing construction company, for whom he personally handled many lawsuits and transactions involving almost every aspect of construction law on a daily basis. The firm continues to represent both small and large construction companies in a wide range of construction law matters.

I was getting very frustrated calling other law offices and getting answering services or answering machines. Admittedly this was on the MLK holiday, but that doesn't change the urgency in which I needed help.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that when I called Mr. Simmons office--he picked up! The man himself. He quickly was able to provide astute advice on my situation and was an immense help.
Can't recommend highly enough and if I ever need legal services (hopefully not) in the future, I will absolutely be reaching out to Mr. Simmons!

Mr. Simmons simply raises the standard for an excellent small business attorney! I've dealt with many over the years, and nobody is as concerned with keeping their client "safe" from harm as he is. Additionally, he's personable, easy to access, professional and doesn't mind hitting something hard when necessary and advising when something can be done simply. I wish I would have engaged an attorney of his caliber years ago; I am so grateful for finding him & his services. Lastly, if you are a small business owner (as I am) he's affordable and does advise you when there's an issue that doesn't need

I've just moved here to the Austin area; I've been from San Francisco / Boston / Milwaukee / Kansas City and Los Angeles and back again, and throughout the years, I've retained 21 different attorneys, addressing different business issues I've faced throughout the years. Additionally, I used to work as a consultant for a District Judge in Silicon Valley when IP issues arose. So while I'm not personally a legal mind at all, I can definitely say that I know how to tell when I've find one.
Mr. Simmons definitely raises the standard for what a great attorney should

Having Andy represent me was a very good decision. At first I tried to handle the matter myself and soon realized I was in over my head.
Andy is very easy to interact with and never once did I feel out of the loop. He took care of everything and a very stressful situation has disappeared.
Highly recommended.

Andy and I have worked together for years. He defines the very word "tenacious." He is one of the best trial lawyers that I have ever seen, and I can personally attest that he is not afraid of anybody.
Andy is the best of the best. He is a lawyer's lawyer, the man that I would turn to if I ever needed a lawyer. I respect him and recommend him highly.

I ran across Andy Simmons on Google and gave him a call. I had a case that he managed to get resolved in a very timely manner. Mr. Simmons is extremely articulate and professional. I had a case where I was dealing with a customer that was refusing payment. My customer just happened to be an attorney herself. When I spoke with Mr. Simmons he spoke with my customer and after hearing my argument she decided to settle the case. Prior to being represented by Mr. Simmons she had refused to provide payment for services rendered.
I am extremely happy with the outcome and it is very obvious that Mr. Simmons

Mr. Simmons is not only knowledgeable, he is passionate about his work. Our initial consultation by phone was very informative. From there he managed my case from answer to dismissal. I never had to set foot in a courtroom. His fee is beyond reasonable for what is superb legal representation.
If you are in the unfortunate position of needing legal representation, stop surfing reviews and hire Mr. Simmons.

After reaching out to several law offices, I decided to retained Mr. Simmons to represent me and I am so glad I did. He explained the legal process regarding my case in layman terms I could easily understand. He was always available to answer my calls and questions. I would highly recommend Mr. Simmons for any legal debt issues. He is affordable, has flexible payment plans, is very informative which gave me a peace of mind, that is what you get and more when you retain him as your attorney. It took almost 3 years, debt obligation resolved and dismissed, case is closed. Thank you Andy!

As a business owner, I am reluctant to sue a client for fees, especially because the legal fees can sometimes outweigh the recovery amount. Andy was very organized, knowledgeable, efficient, and got me results without wasting time, money, and fees. I have recommended Andy to several of my clients and will continue to do so.

A year ago when I walked into Andy's office I was petrified. I was being sued for credit card debt. I left that day feeling like I just hired the best person, as he made me feel confident that this was basically a no-brainer for him. Andy also relayed to me that it was possible this may be his first loss. I appreciated his honesty on this matter and that the reality was really just a wait and see. He did his part remarkably well and I was so impressed with him. Andy kept me up to date on the progress and today, Thanksgiving Day I received an email, 'Case Dismissed!" If you need

The day I walked in Andy's office a year ago, I left there with so much confidence in him and an enormous weight off my shoulders. I was being sued by one of the biggest bottom feeders. Mr. Simmons periodically kept me up to date on this long drawn out process and this morning, Thanksgiving Day my case was dismissed. I cannot recommend Andy enough. He is beyond 5 stars.
Thank you Mr. Simmons you are the best!

Mr. Simmons reviewed my credit card debt case. He gave me an outline of what to expect from the process. He explained, what the best and the worst outcome could be. He stated, "No other harassing phone calls should arise and if so refer them to me." And I had no harassing phones calls after Mr Simmons took my case. After which, I waited patiently to hear from him because the time frame to settle the case depended primarily on the other side. They file, he responds, then they respond etc. My case was dismissed after (5) months. No additional out of pocket expense to the court. Mr Simmons handled

Andy has been our small business lawyer for a number of years. He's handled trademark issues, a lease dispute, and contract review when we sold our business. He's responsive, helpful and his services are reasonably priced. We used to work with lawyers from one of the big firms in town, and got shuttled off to junior, junior attorneys. Andy is experienced and knowledgeable in the legal needs of small businesses.
