Call
We are asking all clients to wear a mask/face-covering in the waiting areas, in transition to/from your session, and in session (unless social distancing or clinician discretion allows for unmasking during the session). Counseling via telemedicine is also an option for all clients. The mission of the Ministry of Counseling and Enrichment is committed to bringing quality services to the people of the Big Country regardless of race, religion, or ability to pay.
Services
In 1977, the First Baptist Church of Abilene commissioned the forming of the Ministry of Counseling & Enrichment out of a desire to respond to surging divorce rates and their subsequent impact on families. Since that time, the Ministry of Counseling & Enrichment has evolved and grown to offer a wide range of outpatient mental health and relationship counseling but is still focused on sharing the healing and restoration of our Creator.
Counseling is not easily described in general statements. It varies depending on the personalities of the clinician and client, and the particular problems you are experiencing. There are many different methods we employ to deal with the problems that you hope to address. Counseling is not like a medical doctor visit.
Steve Queen is the Director of the Ministry of Counseling and Enrichment. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. Steve has a Master's in Family Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University. He has been counseling and involved in ministry for over twenty-five years.
If your child/adolescent is the client, then a custodial parent or legal guardian must read and sign the Informed Consent on behalf of the child/adolescent. If a couple is coming for counseling each involved party is to complete his/her own informed consent and adult intake. A copy of your most recent signed and filed custody agreement is required to be on file with our office if your child/adolescent is receiving services.
