Services
Carl's approach to counseling is fairly simple. He strongly believes that counseling is more about relationship than diagnosis. He will treat you as an individual, created in God's image, not as a condition or disease. It is his prayer that he can provide the atmosphere of safety and integrity necessary for you to press into the hurting and vulnerable areas of your life.
Cynthia Young is a masters-level psychotherapist and has worked in private practice in Abilene, Texas since 1993. She has experience in treating a multiplicity of issues including mood disorders, PTSD, sexual abuse, marital conflict, parenting, blended family adjustment, ADHD, addiction and spiritual/faith issues.
Carol has been employed in the mental health field since 1993. She has worked in various capacities in mental health/mental retardation, including direct care, case management, associate psychologist, and as the Director of Assessment and Referrals in both private and state facilities and hospitals.
Sarah has worked in the mental health field since 2008 and has a variety of experience and training, including working with mood disorders, crisis intervention, stress management, and family issues. Her areas of interest include depression, anxiety and relational issues. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling, based on the client's needs and preferences.
Rebecca is a masters level counselor. She primarily works with children and adolescents, although also enjoys working with adults and families. She uses an eclectic approach to counseling, utilizing methods such as cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy to work with a wide range of emotional and psychosocial stressors.

I started seeing Sarah St. Cyr at Freedom Counseling a little over a year ago after having spent almost two years suffering from major depression and anxiety. I can not say enough good things about her and the job she's done! Sarah helped me to see that my depression/anxiety was mostly due to my own lack of self-worth and always basing my identity on what others thought about me, instead of on what God thought about me. Since I began seeing Sarah, my relationship with God has grown and deepened by leaps and bounds, and I'm able to move past those old feelings of worthlessness and no longer have
