This drive-in restaurant was first opened by Sam Morrison in 1966 as Dog n Suds, which became Sam's Drive-In in 1975.

Give it 2 stars because the chicken sandwiches tasted like something I could have microwaved and super thin, french fries and tater tots were not that good and the burger was very salty. The best tasting was my childs chicken strip from his kids meal! The strawberry shake was pretty good and definitely go back for a shake but wont waste my money on an actual meal.

Excellent service, choice of gourmet ice cream flavors, twist cones, decadent root beer floats,Chicago style hot dogs, burgers, deep fried oreos and much more.. Offers drive in car hoppers,large brand new easy to read outdoor menus, indoor seating, excellent 50's/ 60's music and it is decorated in a cool vintage style. Accepts cards and cash, not sure about checks. A must see in Oregon, Illinois!!! Seasonal changes, closed during winter.

I love ice cream, and I love mixed in candies such as brownies, cookie dough, etc. I ordered a fudge brownie mix. The service is great. Very quick. I like it when the mixed in candies isn’t blended so finely that you don’t get a nice size piece. Unfortunately, Sams really blends them up, which is the only reason I was a little let down. With that said, I’m still going back to try some other food!

I Love This Place my Great Friend from Church took me out here and try Out their fresh cook food selections and it was many options to choose from so I made 5 orders and especially I ate their mini corn dogs. And my stomach couldn't be any more happier after I ate all of my food and finished my cotton candy milkshake. So whoever reading this review if you don't have any plans and you driving your way in their neighborhood. please do yourself a favor you must take a quick stop here it is worth the trip and it is worth your time,investing your stomach with Alot of their delicious food. Sam's is just great. The food is yummy and it keeps the old school diner and drive in feel. The ice cream is even more amazing. They have really cool classic car meet ups during the summer that all the local car owners seem to attend. If you find yourself in the area, you can't go wrong stopping in just to get a milkshake.
