Services
All Ears emerged in the bay area in 2012 and has since grown to an eight-deep crew of dJs who have performed at 500+ weddings. Owner Richard Gintowt is a multi-talented DJ/singer/guitarist. Odiaka Gonzalez is a decade-running fixture of the East Bay DJ community as the host of Oakland's monthly Fresh Jamz party.
He founded All Ears DJ in 2010 to offer an alternative to cheesy wedding DJs and share great music with good people who let loose on the dance floor. In his former life as a Midwesterner, Richard wrote about music for publications like Rolling Stone and The Pitch. He served as the music director for KJHK 90.7FM and fronted the band Hidden Pictures.
Known on the scene as Maitre D, Mike Cochran joined the All Ears staff after more than a decade as an independent, artistically-renowned DJ and Producer. As a senior instructor with Today's Future Sound, Mike works with East Bay youth, inspiring them to create positive change in their lives and communities through music.
Christensen Sanders is better known as DJ Swang, a nod to his Southern accent and charismatic personality. Sanders developed his craft as a college student in Chico before spreading out to L.A. and the Bay. He sets it off weekly at 44 Bar and Halftime Sports Bar, chopping up a kaleidoscopic mix spanning hip-hop, soul, funk, jazz, Latin, old-school and top 40.
Aaron began collecting records before he ever owned a record player. He made mixtapes for his cousins at the ripe old age of 10. Since his days as a local party-starter Spinning vinyl sets in college, Aaron has spun for clubs, pool parties, private events and festivals (he's a fixture at Arizona's annual RedMonkey festival).

Richard was the DJ and audio setup person for our wedding in October 2021. In summary, we give him high marks for talent, but low marks for professionalism. Read on for more.
Pros:
- Value for money: Richard managed mics and audio for the ceremony. He also played a 30-minute live acoustic set during cocktail hour, and performed a 1.5-hour DJ set. He did this for a reasonable price, and at a price point which set him apart from other DJ candidates.
- Dance floor: Richard kept the energy up on the dance floor with a good Bollywood set, and took requests on the fly.
- Bounces back: Made some mistakes

HUGE shout out to Jayson for being the most amazing DJ for our wedding!! We were all having such a blast. He did such an incredible job with the music, totally the party vibe we were looking for. He also listened to our specific requests regarding do not play and must play songs.
The thing that made Jayson stand out from other DJs is how accommodating he was. He really went above and beyond. He was always checking in with us during the reception to see if we needed anything, tell us what was going to be going on next, and making sure the music was what we wanted. We held our wedding in the midst of the pandemic, we're one of the few Covid Weddings. Richard was nothing short of professional. He loves the funk music just as much as we do so his style fit in PERFECTLY with our vibe.

From the moment I first spoke with Richard on the phone, I could tell his musical preferences meshed well with ours. He played a great mix of old-school funk and current hits that had our whole crowd dancing, from older aunts and uncles to our younger friends. We got compliments throughout the night on how great the music was! It was great having Richard DJ our wedding, play guitar and sing during cocktail hour, and run the sound during our ceremony. Working with All Ears DJ was a blast, from beginning to end. They made us feel at ease from the beginning of the process -- they clearly know their trade and they're really easy to work with (professional, responsive, fun, knowledgeable, etc.). DJ Aaron Francisco totally rocked it at our wedding; he made sure he understood what music we wanted, but also went with the flow and added a bunch of really cool songs throughout. Richard was awesome at our wedding last weekend! The dance party he created was a true highlight. Everyone immediately jumped on the dance floor after our first dance and kept going until the end of the night. So many of our guests raved about the music - both during cocktail hour/dinner and dancing. We were blown away. Towards the end of the night, the cops showed up due to a noise complaint and Richard worked with the venue staff to make sure the party could keep going. Richard was a true professional and a pleasure to work with! We went with the live singing and DJ services and he knocked it out of the park. He was able to adjust to the needs of our venue regarding sound and amplification and helped control the flow of the evening. This review is long overdue! Aaron DJ'd our home wedding last September and we could not have been happier with how everything turned out. During the first phone call, he totally got our vibe. We didn't want anything cheesy, we just wanted people to have a fun time without sticking to only top 40. We kicked off the night with David Bowie's "Let's Dance" and ended the night with LCD Soundsystem's "Dance yourself Clean." I requested "I Believe In a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness and that was hysterical-- people had a lot of fun letting loose

Richard did an amazing job at our wedding. We did not want a bunch of cheesy party games or call outs at our reception--just someone who would focus on the music and making sure our guests were dancing. We were also looking for someone who would make our ceremony feel special without resorting to a quartet or string ensemble. We looked at several DJs but didn't really feel a connection with any of them. However, after we listened to Richard's mixes on his website, we set up a meeting.

Stevie and Heidi absolutely put our wedding over the top!!! We were looking for a DJ/Live Musician combination for our wedding to play at both the ceremony and reception and quite a few vendors joked to let us know when we found this “unicorn”. Our wedding would not have been as special without Richard from All Ears DJ. We were looking for a private musician to serenade us on our special intimate elopement wedding. Our lovely Wedding Planner linked our information and once I heard Richard's vocals and talent, my husband and I knew we wanted him to sing for our wedding. Richard was our Wedding DJ in early January 2015. And, let me tell you, he kept the party going all night long! We'd definitely recommend Richard for your wedding (or party) too. He did a great job of listening to our tastes and desires (80s and 90s throwback w/ a sparse mix of current jams). He played 90% throwback stuff which we really liked and got the crowd moving and did a great job of reading the crowd. At one point, he came out ask polled my friends (leading the dance party) to see if they had any wishes. I think possibly something by Bel Biv Devoe resulted.
