I have had a longstanding focus on trauma, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), dissociation, addictions to substances (alcohol, drugs and prescription medications) and to self-destructive behavior (anger, the internet, gambling).
My emphasis is on providing accurate diagnoses of current psychological problems and addressing those problems with techniques that are research and/or evidence-based. Clients consistently report rapid relief in fewer than 10 sessions; however, many clients pursue further therapy, making dramatically positive and often unexpected changes in their lives.

Services
Phase One: Understanding the Current State of Emotional Dysregulation (Mapping Risks & Jumpstarting Resilience). This phase involves both a formal diagnostic evaluation and education regarding the neurophysiology, brain and body effects of trauma and PTSD and other relevant problems you report. If addiction is present we will assess for severity and make clear recommendations regarding a course of action.
People who survive trauma and experience posttraumatic stress symptoms often develop alcohol or substance abuse problems. In some instances the addictive tendencies were present prior to the traumatic episode. Often there is a vulnerability to drug use or abuse passed down from a previous generation (e.g., a parent or other first-degree relative who had an addiction).
Dr. Abueg provides forensic psychology expert services to attorneys for their clients involved in criminal and civil litigation, particularly instances requiring PTSD expertise. Plaintiff Psychological Injury PTSD in the Workplace Resulting from Exposure to Violence or Other Workplace Threats Mental Illness Resulting from Discrimination and/or Sexual Harassment.
I have a passion for spreading the word regarding how working through a traumatic history reawakens inherent reslience and seemingly boundless life energy and passion for self and others. I am comfortable with groups as small as 10 and as large as 1000, in peaceful civilian contexts as well as post-disaster or near areas of international conflict.
Please note that TraumaResource is an independent, out-of-pocket practice which means that all patients are responsible for full payment at the time of service. Nevertheless, statements can be provided to any patient requesting a record of services received and payments made. These statements can be used to seek reimbursement from a patient's insurance carrier.
