We have re-designed the front waiting room to comfortably fit four people while still maintaining the adequate 6 feet of social distancing.
I received my D.D.S. degree from Northwestern University Dental School and have been in private practice in the Central Coast area for over 23 years. I continue my education and keep up-to-date with changes in dentistry by attending continuing education courses in cosmetic and general dentistry and through my membership in the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and Monterey Bay Dental Society (MBDS).

Three generations of my family have been seen at this office since 1994 when Dr. Caprio first practiced here. Until recently we had always paid cash and didn't have issues with the office staff. Since their longtime manager (Barbara) was fired, the unscrupulous and inept office staff have charged us upfront for covered procedures , a.k.a., double dipping. They refuse to reimburse us. Such a shame considering the high quality of patient care we had been receiving from the doctor and his assistants.

I had a crown done here. Best experience ever with a dentist! NO pain, very quick and friendly! They got me in a chair right away and started working quickly. I have issues getting numb so they prescribed medication to take before the procedure! What a godsend! I was terrified to get the work done, but Dr. Kim and staff did a great job and I had no pain!! This is a first for me.

This office will cancel on you for no reason at the last minute. Then they will blame it on COVID 19 and they won't even offer to reschedule. The office cancelled on me less than 24 hours before an appointment time and offered no explanation. Then failed to reschedule me and kicked me out of the practice without warning. Extremely unprofessional practice that is managed very badly and should never be in business.

I cannot say enough awful things about this dentist and office. Your money is their first priority. For my first (and last) visit they cleaned my lower arch only and billed it in full. No periodontal work etc. They expect me to pay for a full cleaning out of pocket for them to clean the upper arch. They refuse to work with me. No thanks, I will never return. Poor bedside manner as well. Highly recommend you visit ANY other dental office.

THIS is the is the Dental Office I look for every time I move. I move often as my partner is in the Air force. The Office accepts Tricare Prime and has a small town vibe with down to earth, and professional staff. I needed Dr Kim to complete some paperwork for an move overseas.

I saw Dr Kim, again, this morning. He put in the second of two crowns I requested. No mumbo jumbo, just got to work, and got the job done. No pain. Just a friendly staff of, Barbara, Jackie, and the others. This man knows what he's doing. He's beyond professional. It's hard for me to describe. You just need to make a visit with him, to find out for yourself. Top notch! Excellent! Trust me. If I knew about this place, I would have come here a looong time ago!

I have never been more pleased at a dentist's office. Dr. Kim and his whole staff are very welcoming and outgoing. He is the type of dentist that makes sure his patients completely understand the procedure. I am one who gets very nervous, but he put me at ease when he told me the process step by step. All in all great environment!!

Be careful coming here. I was there two years ago and Dr Kim had told me my teeth needed a whole bunch of cavity work done including a few crowns. I was moving soon so I couldn't get all the teeth work done, so we did just a small portion. Dr Kim told me to urgently come back so we could fix the rest of the teeth before it gets worst. But I never got back to him because I had to move. Well I moved across the country twice and BOTH times, in two different states with two different dentists, my teeth looked fine and no cavities were to be found. What?! Now I am questioning if the teeth he worked

This review might end up being a bit long, so for those who don't care to read in-depth reviews, here's the short version: I was told by Dr. Kim and staff that I had a cavity in one of my wisdom teeth and that I would need other expensive procedures (bridge replacement) right away. After having x-rays taken at a different dentist, I was told that there were actually no cavities at all in any of my teeth, and no mention was made about my bridgework showing signs of decay. Had I not gone for a second opinion, I would have spent thousands of dollars on dental work that I didn't need

Dr. Kim and his staff are absolutely fantastic. This is a team of friendly professionals and they were great. Barbara did my cleaning and even though we met for the first time today, it felt like we'd been friends for years. She was wonderful. Blanka was very friendly and helpful, and Dr. Kim himself was very professional.

Dr. Kim and his staff are great! They are friendly and professional, but most of all they run a proficient operation. I have had a crown placed on after years of bad dental work in the military. I will have two more and a cleaning and I do not regret my choice. The front desk staff are great and fun to deal with. If your not satisfied (within reason) then they will work with you. I say that because some people are unreasonable in this world.

I had the best experience here in the short time I stayed in Monterey. Dr Kim and his staff were so friendly and caring, totally turned the usual dreadful dental visit into a surprisingly pleasant experience.
I was able to get an emergency visit due to a tooth pain I was experiencing in addition to a last minute teeth cleaning. Barbara the office manager was knowledgable, efficient, and took all my needs and concerns into consideration.
I would highly recommend Dr Kim to anyone looking for a trusted, thorough, and friendly dentist.

Dr. Kim is great, but his staff is even greater. Barbara does the best Cleanings in teh world, and she is very thorough adn entertaining. Dr. Kim is so good, that he did his procedures on me this morning, and he personally called me this evening at my cell to see if i was well and to encourage me to follow the instructions he gave me, and also to makes sure i was well. Hands down the best of the best dentists ive ever seen.

I admit once Dr. Caprio retired, I was worried if there would be a big change once Dr. Kim took over.... My experience with Dr. Kim has been wonderful. I have been a patient of that office since 1996 and the staff turn over is incredibly low! The office has recently been remodeled and is beautiful. The staff is helpful, professional, cheerful and accomodating. 6 stars if it were possible!
