A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet.
Tooth decay can be extremely painful and puts the teeth at risk. Many extractions and restorative treatments are performed every single day because tooth decay has become too severe for the tooth to be saved. Diagnodent is a safe fluorescent laser that detects hidden tooth decay accurately, quickly, and in its earliest stages.
Digital radiography (digital X-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental X-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of X-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. Digital X-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental X-rays.
Fluoride is the most effective agent available to help prevent tooth decay. It is a mineral that is naturally present in varying amounts in almost all foods and water supplies. The benefits of fluoride have been well known for over 50 years and are supported by many health and professional organizations.

Before the pandemic this was the best office in Monterey and Carmel. Everyone was always friendly and professional. My family has been going here forever. Dr Lagier was ok.
But since the reopening they have a new receptionist that is very rude. She kept cutting me off when I was trying to make my kids appointments and seemed put out to be making the appointments at all. If it was just a bad day I would understand but it is always like that with everyone in the front. I feel like as soon as I left the room they roasted me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lagier's for several years now. I appreciate the organization and kindness in this office. Every hygenist that I've worked with has been kind, gentle and friendly. And Dr. Lagier is a master with crowns and other dental procedures. I recently broke a tooth on a Saturday near the holidays and she met me in the office that afternoon to put a temporary on. The office is 100% female-run, too!

I woke up with the worse tooth ache I've ever experienced. When I called, Deborah at the front desk was caring and helpful. I was able to get in and taken care of ASAP. After X-rays it was clear that a root canal was essential. I was referred to a great Endodontist and will be going back for my crown. I am very happy I've found my new family dentist and appreciate all of the time and genuine care they took in my well being. Great staff and Dr.

Love Dr. Lagier and staff. Called one night in lots of pain, they saw me the next morning at 8:30 am. I needed an emergency root canal. She was very gentle and kind and understanding, I was crying and a blubbering mess. She Referred me to a great endocrinologist and I've seen her as my dentist ever since. She did a wonderful crown and has since updated some of my previous fillings. She does great work. I've always been a nervous dental patient but Dr. Lagier always reassures me that is normal:)

I have been seeing Dr. Lagier for several years now. Before becoming a patient I had not seen a dentist for quite some time. Dr. Lagier and her staff were very friendly and reassuring that I was a "typical" client and that my teeth were not about to fall out!
I learned so much my first visit. They swabbed my mouth for a bacteria count to know what the chemistry was like in my mouth. From there I had a check up and tooth cleaning. It was fast, easy, and very pleasant. To my surprise, no cavities!
From that initial visit, I have continued on. I have received Invisalign through Dr. Lagier

Amazing to watch the teamwork involved today. It was like a choreographed dance between dentist Lagier and Nancy, the assistant. It was like they could read each other’s mind… on perfect timing and so smooth. It was very cool to watch then work so seamlessly together. This was the epitome of what a team should be anywhere! Beautiful to see such harmony and it seemed timing was everything, which they had down to a science! Thanks!

I’m new to the area and have been seeing Dr. Lagier for over a year. It was a relief to find her after a bad experience with someone else. Dr. Lagier is extremely gentle. I’ve never had a painless shot, but I did with her. I have always been able to see her in a timely manner, even on short notice, and she and her assistant, Nancy, are delightful to interact with. It’s also a pleasure to work with her front office. The women there are cheerful and quite helpful. The overall feeling in that office is one of people enjoying what they do.
