ATTENTION: In the colder months, if Searcy Public Schools are closed due to inclement weather, the Cats Only Vet Clinic may follow suit for the safety of its staff, our wonderful clients, and their kitties! Welcome to the Cats Only Veterinary Clinic, with special pricing on cat spays, neuters, & declaws.
Surgical Declawing is a humane option for your cat (and your furniture). Cats which have had a front declaw performed continue to go outdoors without any unusual problems. A cat not properly using its litter box can be a sign of a medical problem. If your cat doesn't seem to be having any physical issues, try some of our tips to modify your cat's behavior.

Problem scratching & clawing can be treated either by behavior or surgical means. Behavioral modification techniques include providing a natural and desirable scratching post, preferably from the time of kittenhood. Simple posts may be made of securely supported soft logs. Of the commercial scratching posts, ones made from "sisal" seem to be preferred by many cats.
B. Best Technique: Deep enough to remove germinal tissue, but shallow enough to spare joint & toe pad. C. Cut Too Shallow: Retained germinal tissue causes partial claw regrowth within months to years (= spurs). D. Lacerated Pad: In order to avoid retained germinal tissue, some surgeons cut too deeply, thus lacerating toe pads and causing lameness.
In order to rule out the medical causes of "inappropriate urination and/or defecation, " please schedule your cat for a physical examination by our Doctor as soon as possible. This is especially important if your cat is lethargic, has a loss of appetite, squats frequently "but is unable to go to the bathroom, " or displays any other symptoms.

They encourage declawing of cats, going as far as to say it’s a humane way to manage clawing of furniture rather than “behavior modification.” Behavior modification they state on their website can be as simple as putting out a scratching post. If you can’t bother to put out a scratching post and instead opt to declaw your cat (and oh did you hear they can continue going outside afterwards! another NO) then I am concerned about your ability to care for your cat. Please do your research and learn that declawing is INHUMANE and basically NEVER the right answer. These people are destroying

This is definitely the BEST VET I've ever taken my pets to. When it was time to take my Sammie to get shots and neutered, he got scared and took off. The ladies at Cats Only helped me for over 30 minutes looking for him! When we finally found him, scared to death, they helped coax him into a kennel and took him to the clinic. I could not praise this clinic enough!! They also worked with me on the payment!
