Services
We are a full-service landscaping company and family friendly garden center at the intersection of Chatham, Durham, and Wake Counties. For Garden's Sake is situated on a beautiful 20-acre site right on the Durham / Chatham county line. You will enjoy an excellent selection of plants, both indoor and outdoor at our garden center.
Julia is from Pembroke, NC, but now lives in Durham, NC. Her professional background began in agriculture where she focused on the aggregation of local NC food. She is incredibly passionate about supporting local farms, so she is a perfect fit for sourcing locally grown plants here in NC at our Garden Center.
In our warranty, FGS defines a woody plant that is either a shrub or tree having multiple permanent stems branching from or near the ground and/or trunk. Woody plants may be deciduous, meaning they shed their leaves for a season, or an evergreen, meaning they keep their leaves and/or canopy throughout all four seasons.
Remember that plants are living and require special care. Once we install your landscape or you take a plant home from our garden center, you have the responsibility for the continued health and vigor of the plantings. The following general instructions will help you enjoy and maintain your investment.
1. If you plan to use PTO during that time, please submit a Time-Off Request form to your manager. If you are unsure about how much PTO you have, check with one of your managers or email Amanda. Please remember all Garden Center, Lawn and Landscape staff members should only order items in Royal Blue (or as close to Royal Blue as possible).

Our yard is a small yard and the previous landscaping was not exactly what we wanted. We contacted "For Garden's Sake" and right from the start to the end of our project, they were welcoming, easy and honest to work with. And we are very pleased with our landscaping. It looks fantastic and have zero complaints. Thank you and job well done "For Garden's Sake".

The Robin's Nest is a beautiful, little event space that was perfect size for my niece's bridal shower. It was reasonably priced as well.
I would rent this space again based on location and decor. The space was wonderful and looks exactly as shown in photos. Be mindful that the few stairs shown in one picture are to offices for the business, not to the kitchen. The prep kitchen and bathroom are at the top of a steep staircase that leads above the rental space, so be prepared if needing to use either. There is a large table up there that we used to prep our trays for the event, as well as a microwave

It was beautiful! I visited with my family and walked around their grounds. The pond was lovely and had ducks! It also had some turtles that poked their heads through the water. There were some goats that were kinda shy till they walked up, and then they were very nice. The garden has all sorts of pretty plants, not much of a plant guy but they were in all sorts of types and lighting requirements. Very nice potting selection too, all sizes and very well decorated. I'm gonna come back for sure

We recently remodeled our backyard with For Garden's Sake and we're very happy with the results! The team is awesome and very responsive and was what we were looking for. From Billy's design chops to AmberLeigh and Viridian coordinating the whole thing and Jack keeping us up-to-date on the job site, we found the whole experience to be pleasant and straightforward. They even got us in touch with a deck builder and worked with us to adjust our overall design plan to fit our budget. As you can see, we opted out of the plants for now, but that just goes to show you how versatile they are!

Just got into houseplants this year and when I tell you this place is awesome! They have such nice staff who is always willing and available to help and answer all questions. Being a newbie in the houseplant world, this was great because I had questions. They have an indoor greenhouse for their houseplants which is so neatly arranged. Their offerings were amazing and I found many of the plants on my list that I wanted and ones that I didn't know I needed! Their plants are so healthy and all of them have been thriving. Of all the times I have visited this place, I've never left empty handed

I've always been driving to Home Depot for my plants and flowers but after coming here one morning on a weekend, I think I found my new go to place for all things garden related!
I made sure to arrive early in the morning to avoid the worst of the humidity and heat. Once you pull in, you'll be directed to the gravel parking lot in the back. When I was there in the morning, there was plenty of parking.
The staff are very friendly here. One girl helped me to find some perennials for my garden. They have a huge selection of plants, definitely a lot more than your Home Depot or Lowes.

My husband and I went to their last For Friday's Sake extended event which had live music, a food truck and drinks for the Potting Shed. As if going to a garden center wasn't fun enough, if you add entertainment and wine spritzers it's basically a DREAM COME TRUE for any plant parent. We got three new plant babies while we were there. All of the plants were in great condition and there is an impressive variety of houseplants in various sizes, all fairly priced as well. I can't wait to return soon!

They have a great selection of beautifully cared for trees, shrubbery, plants and vines!
The staff is amazingly friendly and knowledgeable. They can answer any question and on the rare chance they can’t, they… can immediately locate someone else who knows.
The seating area is an inviting place to sip a beverage and chat Friday through Sunday after shopping in the sun. My favorite is the delightful Summer Slush, a cocktail made with 2 scoops of Italian Ice with a moscato pour over.
On your way out, stop to feed the goats and chickens. They’ll love you!

I love the selection of plants and plant pottery. The location is what's most attractive. It's in the outskirts, has a pond, a cutesy adult drink spot, alcoholic and nonalcoholic slushees, food truck, chickens, goats, ducks, and I think roosters. It's not only a garden shop, it's a Sunday afternoon hangout spot! The staff so far are super friendly and helpful.

I had the BEST day at For Garden's Sake yesterday with my husband and our 5yo son. This was our first time visiting and it was amazing! We started off at the Food Truck around 10:30 am (Roasted & Toasted - they are also amazing!), we ate by the pond, then we played on the swing set and visited the goats and chickens, then we ventured to the garden… center and my 5yo son picked out some succulents and little pots for them to go in, we paid for those items and then we went to the little shed that sells slushies and beer and wine. I had a mango slushie, my son had a keylime slushie, and

First time visit and I was impressed. Decent selection of houseplants at average prices and great selection of pots. I did visit in the middle of the winter, so the stock may have been low, I'm eager to go back in the spring or summer. Everything seemed to be very healthy. The goats and chickens were a pleasant surprise!! So friendly

A magical wonderland for all the plant lovers out there.
This place is massive! Plants everywhere, pots everywhere, everything you'd ever need!
The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable of the plants available. I probably spent an hour here and it was so worth it. When you think of a plant shop, this is the place you think of. Plants hanging from the ceilings, climbing up the wall, everywhere you look something new catches your eye.
I will definitely be returning and I'll be bringing some plant lovers with me!

This place is awesome! We have bought plants from them in the past and their staff were always very knowledgeable and helpful!
Most recently we have visited a few times to let our toddler play on the playground, watch the ducks, and feed the goats! It's usually pretty quiet and other families keep their distance during covid times.
If you ask the staff they will give you some animal crackers to feed the goats!
There's also an old cemetery on the grounds. It was really flooded on our recent visit, so I didn't walk in, but looking forward to exploring next time.

This is a really cool place. We just moved to hwy 751 in May and wanted some plants for our new place and found we were about a mile from this nursery.
It is so unique! Not only do they have plants, pots, soil, and all the necessities, but it's a whole experience - they have live animals that we saw the kids petting in the distance, a booth where you can buy drinks and iced treats on a hot day, plenty of space to walk around, and a lake where you can picnic. Since there's a pandemic, we kept our distance (and there's plenty of space to do so) and didn't try any of those things
