The year was 1971. Five years earlier James "Jim" Slyman had graduated from Carson-Newman University with a major in business and a minor in economics. Having worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) since graduation, Jim had a vision for a business of his own. Since high school, the Knoxville native had been fascinated with real estate.

Laura listed and sold our home in 2020. She is fantastic to work with. She knows real estate; knows the processes, and knows how to get the job done. Since this occurred during the disruptions of COVID, there were many uncertainties. Laura's confidence, steadiness, and always-positive demeanor were so very important and appreciated. We purchased a home flipped by Dominique Oro and Jarrod Cruze who worked for Laura Slyman at Slyman Real Estate. The following is based on our personal opinions, allegations, and experiences and not guilt in a court of law.
• Dominique sent a completely unprovoked text message !!!AFTER!!! closing that we were wise to be at closing because they were going to sue us for nearly HALF A MILLION DOLLARS if we hadn’t closed.
• Dominique has also recently contacted and threatened to sue our supports who disagree with how we have been treated. Which obviously agitated this already horrible situation
