Felt like my first real haircut/style ever and I've gone nowhere else since. Extremely welcoming, professional, and talented staff. The place is always clean and beautiful. And, out of timing convenience, I've chosen to see three different staff members for a cut and was pleasantly surprised by 1) the fact that there was no pressure to only go to one person (they are all supportive of one another), 2) the differences in technique that they each could employ, and 3) that the quality of their work is consistently high. I've never had that second-day "oh...I cut my hair" dread

Stephanie is a really great stylist, who’s totally transparent about what can be achieved in one sitting. She understands how to work with curl patterns, which is nice. I’m absolutely in love with my new balayage and cut. I will absolutely be coming back. Highly recommend this place, and especially Stephanie!

Went to get my hair cut and dyed and it was my first time ever coloring so I was a little nervous. Hannah looked at my ideas and helped gear me in the right direction (I asked for her opinion since I had no clue) and assured me it was nothing to worry about. My hair came out awesome and the salon was great too. Definitely recommend this salon.

I came in on my birthday to get my roots brought up with money pieces in the front on my hair and I left with it wet. When I got home and dried and styled it, it seemed to me that the styilist completely disregarded what I wanted done to my hair and instead just game me a full head of highlights instead. The highlights that I was left with were patchy and not even blended into my hair nor were the the right tone. Would not go again.

When I first dyed my hair blonde a few years ago, I thought, "hey this will be a fun thing to do and nothing more!"
I was so wrong. The process of getting rid of the blonde and coming back to my natural hair color has been long-winded. I decided I needed to switch to a different salon, so I chose Michaela at Smith + Co.
I couldn't be happier that I made the switch!

I came in for a few balayage highlights, just to refresh existing highlights, I left with no highlights. I don't even know how...how she was able to dye my hair a light mousey brown! No money piece, no pretty blonde anything- just light brown everywhere - lighter than the roots I came with! She blow dried my hair and I said, "I don't see any highlights." She was very nice and said she agreed. She put in foils (not what I wanted). Ok, if she's more comfortable with foils let's try it. She blow dries a second time NO

I love this salon! If you need a great cut or color service Shawn is your guy! He takes the time to listen to your vision, walks you through how it will work on your hair and offers great tips and suggestions along the way. The salon is beautiful and I leave the chair a happy customer every single time. If you are on the fence - make an appointment! You won’t be disappointed.

This was meant to be! After losing my friend/stylist I searched but after 2 cuts the new people weren't quite right. I scanned Yelp & this salon had such great reviews & the reviewers were so real - authentic. Yes I live in Chktg & it's on Delaware downtown but take the 33, & get off, take Edward & it's a R between Edward & Virginia. Took like 15 mins. To get there. Beautiful boutique style building & parking was great! I have to use a cane --- yay, NO STEPS to get inside. Immediately met by one of the stylists & led to chair where Michaela, my beautiful

I love this place! I’ve been coming here for my hair since I moved to Buffalo. Everyone here is so friendly and personable. I have dark Asian hair and it’s hard to find someone to who knows how to lighten it without absolutely killing my hair. I’ve gone to Jen and Michaela for my balayage and I’m never disappointed!!

I am a natural brunette and have been wanting to try being blonde again (did it about 11 years ago). Looked hard and compared the work of lots of stylist in the Buffalo area. Decided on visiting Stephanie Proulx at Smith and Co. and she didn't disappoint! I feel like she got the natural/cool tone blonde I was going for and applied it with a nice bayalage technique. Yay! Going back for my 5 week toner/trim and a nice convo as usual with Stephanie on Sat. Looking forward to it! I recommend this salon and especially Stephanie!

Went here a few months ago for a balayage. Kayla was nice but seemed like she was in a bad mood or just not very sociable. She did a good job but wasn't super accommodating or anything and it was pretty expensive compared to other places I've been. Basically, the result was good but I wasn't really comfortable here to be completely honest.

This is by far the best salon. They recently moved downtown on Delaware near Edward from WIlliamsville. The new salon has an upscale vibe without being pretentious or stuffy. All of the stylists are talented but my to gal is Michaela. A great colorist and stylist. I noTiced one bad review and find it veRy hard to believe. Been going to her foot several years now and have always been exceptionally pleased with heed work

I usually go to another salon but I was recommended by a friend to try this place and I am so glad I took the plunge! I had a haircut with Jennifer. First off, I loved the ability to book online. The interior and all the decor makes you feel like you're in a NYC salon, very sophisticated and stylish, without the NYC price tag. Everyone was welcoming and kind. Jennifer was very timely and took me right at the time my appointment was scheduled for. She really listened to me and did an awesome job on my hair. I will defiantly be back!

I have been looking for a really good hair salon in the city for a few months now and so happy to have found smith and company. Jennifer did a amazing job on my hair color with a mixture of highlights and balayage. My hair color came out so well. She specializes in blondes and you can tell. The color is so bright and amazing. I also got my hair cut. One of the best haircuts I have had in a while. So glad to have found Smith and co. I will be returning very soon. It should be the go to hair salon in the city.

I have visited one other salon in Buffalo before and I saw a stark difference between that one and Smith & Co. Although it was a little hard to get an appointment (they are very busy), I ended up getting very good service once I was there. I went there for a haircut and some highlights and my hairdresser, Michaela was absolutely wonderful. She's friendly, understands what you really want (take a picture with you of what you want if you can) and really delivers. She explained the process to me step-by-step as she was doing it so I could make changes if needed. I would confidently recommend

I used to go with my Mom to get my haircut by Shawn when I was in elementary school, and now at the age of 25, whenever I am back in town from Florida, I make it a priority to still see Shawn for my hair. (he's worth traveling 1200+ miles for!) I haven't been able to find any other hairdresser who knows and cares for me as genuinely as he does. I can always trust him with a fantastic cut and color, his honesty and direction with what I need to do to improve my hair care, and a very personal experience. Smith & Co is a beautiful space and the staff is extremely courteous and professional

My appointment with Michael Hancock; The most horrific experience ever. Went for partial highlights in the back and blend in the roots on my fresh frontal highlights. I got 2 inches of black roots after the first application, I was terrified. It looked like I haven't done my roots in 6 months. Than a color removal that turned my entire root part red. The back was still really dark and asked for highlights which I asked for to begin With and was assured that the fading color it's going to resolve that issue. Skeptical, I waited.After a toner I was ready for a blow dry. My hair was sticky

I really appreciated the ability to book my appointment online. The salon was stylish and cozy. Everyone was very nice and made me feel welcome. The mimosa was a relaxing treat! I had two friends recommend this salon and I'm so glad I followed their advice.
Bunny was so friendly and knowledgeable. She listened very carefully and had great suggestions for me. My hair turned out beautifully and I left excited to try new techniques she showed me to coax my waves into a healthy looking style. I will definitely be back to see Bunny again!! Thank you!!!

My first time coming here. The stylists are soooo friendly. I can't emphasize it enough. They made me feel right at home. My stylist was Hannah and she is AMAZING!. She's super bubbly and she will give you the most beautiful hairstyle ever! Her suggestions are great and she will make you look fabulous as ever! She will listen to your ideas and will make you feel as comfortable as possible. I must have chatted with her for a good hour. It made my hair dye experience even more memorable.

I recently came to SMITH+CO to try something new with my hair. I don't get my hair done or colored very often but sometimes you just need a change. I had such a great experience here from start to finish, I knew right away I could trust my mop in Bunny's hands! The waiting area has magazines, coffee, and I was offered a mimosa - i instantly knew i picked the right place :) everybody just generally seemed to be very friendly and to be in a good mood here.
