Hunan Chinese Restaurant offers authentic Chinese and Asian cuisine in Wichita Falls, TX and the surrounding areas. Our buffet is open 7 days a week for your convenience, and we serve all varieties of Chinese and Asian dishes, from Szechuan beef and Kung Pao chicken to spicy Korean, Pad Thai and Singapore noodles.

Come see exactly why we've been a favorite of Wichita Falls since 1982. We also deliver to most of Wichita Falls. The origin of the Hunan Chinese restaurant dates back to a young Midwestern State University student from Taiwan. The student, George Chao, found time to work for an older man who ran a Chinese restaurant in Sikes Senter.

I just love the food. It's always hot, fresh and very delicious. They are so sweet. They're always making sure drinks are filled and dishes are picked up off the table. I have brought my family and now we go quite often.

We just love the food and especially the hot and sour soup. Give them a try. This from the author of The North Texas area western novel: The Reckoning of Rance, and the science fiction action novel: Last Of The Knowers.

They were super nice to me even though I came right after they closed the front doors. I had never been there before and they were so nice in explaining to me that it was okay but they do have a pick up window on the other side. I felt dumb but they were super sweet about it

Anytime there's a Hibachi/Mongolian grill it's a plus in my book. The food was great tonight. I had looked this restaurant up in anticipation of trying it as I am in town for work. It did not disappoint. The selection was more than what I expected. The aforementioned hibachi was nice. The food came out perfectly cooked. Whether you're a local,or like me, just passing through, give this place a try.

By local standards, Hunan offers a variety of excellent asian and other dishes. The staff is friendly and keep good track of drinks and dirty dishes. Dishes are well prepared and kept stocked. Prices are competitive with other buffets.

Visiting Texas for a very sad event, however a generous person paid for our entire family to eat. We easily had 40+ of us come through the door and Hunan employees were extremely gracious. There was enough food for everyone at the buffet, along with an immediate switching when an item was all gone. Drinks were refilled as fast as they could. Adjusted for children and gave them cups with lids. It's the little things.
They did an amazing job at accommodating all of us. So kudos to the wait staff, cooks, hosts and every employee in-between. Thank you for helping our family grieve and gather together

The employees were very nice! They were prompt about clearing the empty plates and when offering drink refills! However, the buffet was very limited, and there just wasn't much to choose from. We were charged about $42 for 3 people to eat in a Friday night and there were no crab legs or anything "special" on the buffet that would constitute such a high price for our meal. Overall, it's highly overpriced and the quality of the food was hit and miss. I don't recommend it.

This is a lot of people's favorite Chinese buffet in Wichita Falls. I think it's just alright. A few years ago I got a to go order and had a piece of hair in my fried rice that could in no way be my own hair. I've had a weird relation with this place since. This place has been around for years so that goes to show you there is a good group of people who swear by this place. I've had better but I haven't definitely had worse.

This is my go to for Chinese food in town. The food is always great. Their sesame chicken is excellent and so is their broccoli beef. They aren't offering dine in still, but I almost never ate there anyway. We always call in and come get it. Food is always hot and fresh. They also offer delivery, but I've not used it yet.

I finally tried this place out since my usual place was closed due to the covid-19 . We get scared trying new Chinese food places because trust me they're not all the same and not always good to our liking . But I can say that My family and I were NOT disappointed at all trying it ! The price point was your typical Chinese takeout prices which is great. The food was fresh. And finally a place that had our order fresh, hot , ready to go and ALL THERE . And also a plus is that they have a drive thru pick up window ! Lol . This will definitely be our go to for take out . Not sure how the buffet

I have tried this place two times and the quality of food is not good. I am originally from Fort Worth and the food at this Chinese restaurant was terrible it had no flavor not to mention the price of the buffet is way too much for what their variety is. I would not recommend this Chinese restaurant

4.5 stars

Very nice decor and overall nice visuals when you walk in. The overall restaurant is smaller than most Chinese buffets but includes a small bar and a private seating area.

The food selection is again smaller than most but after sampling most of the selection, it is not a factor. The egg rolls are good, pot stickers are good, fried rice is ok, and the Mongolian bbq is good. Sushi was good.

The staff was friendly and service was quick. I noticed one fly but none around the food.

As it stands, this is my favorite Chinese restaurant buffet in Wichita Falls.

Don't waste your time and money. The restaurant is sticky and the air is stagnant. The restrooms look like they haven't been cleaned in years and are in desperate need of some maintenance. The food is not any better. You can tell the food has been sitting out for a while because half of it was cold to the touch. Save your money and go anywhere else in this time.

My wife and I came in with an open mind and an empty stomach. Ordered a Dr. Pepper, headed to the food area, and was greeted with a very limited selection of food. Four small islands of "hot" food to choose from was disappointing, but I ignored that. It was around 6:30 so you would imagine the food to be hot; nope, everything was cold and very stale. The rice was tough, the cheesy seafood plate was essentially a hot cheese-topped cole slaw, no seafood whatsoever to be found in it. I believe the Lo Mein was a bit undercooked and unflavored. The food was bad, but the service was worse.

This restaurant is an all you can eat. The food was great but I came here for crab legs on a Friday as advertised and when I arrived and asked the hostess, she let me know they haven't had crab legs in years. I stayed either way since they did have shrimp and salmon and it was delicious. I had noodles, corn, small salad, orange chicken sesame chicken, jalapeño chicken, fried rice, jalapeño rice, pork won tong, salmon, and wafers for dessert. The staff is friendly and consistently were around asking if anything is needed anything. It is a all you can eat buffet and the price is low.

Buffet to go is $6/lb more if you get sushi or crab legs. You get a container and option for a small bowl for soup or sauce. The food variety is good and tasty. Not only not salty. I was surprised but they even had fried frog legs which my boyfriend was surprised that it tasted like chicken like I told him. When I have more time, I will definitely try their actually buffet.

Kind of your typical Asian Buffett, but what sets it apart is the service. Super friendly staff and ownership. They make you feel real welcome and your drink will never be empty. They support the community and they host a lot of large parties. It also helps that the food is great. It's a regular on my list.

This place should be shut down. Absolutely the worst buffet and service we have ever been too. The food is cold, dried out, over cooked; the server was rude, actually threw our check and cookies on the table. We arrived at 8:30, they close at 10 so there is no excuse.

The best Chinese buffet I've ever been to... and I've been to quite a few all over the country (hubby is retired Air Force). I grew up in Wichita Falls and always loved Hunan. It is literally the only place I've ever seen hot and sour chicken. If you haven't had said hot and sour chicken, you need to get some ASAP. Get the sauce on the side so your chicken stays crispy. Of course it's not authentic Chinese food. Is that such a bad thing??? Also, their egg rolls are awesome. I kind of judge a Chinese restaurant by the quality of the egg rolls... theirs aren't from frozen

This is my families "go-to" for Chinese take out. The portions are enough for dinner and lunch the next day!! The buffet is always good and fresh, we haven't had a bad experience once and we probably have take-out from here once a month. I would recommend!

I was the very first customer this Saturday morning. Saturday lunch is $8.99 with no senior citizen discount. TO-GO is $6.00 per pound which is fair. Shrimp are very light. The advantage to being first is obvious. ALL of the food is hot and fresh. They're bringing out pan after pan of food. The cheese wontons had a lot of cheese. Mushroom chicken had a lot of my favorite-mushrooms. Egg rolls good, sesame chicken good, fresh unpeeled shrimp with legs and alimentary canal intact?? Had cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, and very sweet watermelon. Beverage of choice was ice tea. Waiter service

Ok, remember it's Wichita Falls so four stars for the area. Good basic Chinese buffet. Plenty of standard dishes, a little sushi bar, even a small Mongolian grill. A few things threw me... seafood delight with cabbage in it??? Also, chicken on a stick with BBQ flavor??? Well it is Texas. Regardless, it's a belly full of good food for $10!

So I've been pretty loyal to hunans for a majority of my life. But tonight I was disgraced with what I had order. I ordered curry shrimp my friend ordered a salad. Upon arrival my curry shrimp was curry chicken and the chicken in the salad was slimy, stinky, and rancid. We immediately called and to no avail they did not believer and then proceeded to hang up and ignore all further calls. Terrible customer service and a potentially dangerous mistake on the rancid chicken. Not cool guys.

First thing's first, if you're going to a Chinese buffet and expecting deep, elegant flavors, then you're doing it wrong. Chinese buffets are for stuffing your face with food that briefly reminds you of actual dishes you would find at real Chinese restaurants. If you happen to stumble upon dishes that are good enough to stand on their own, then consider it a bonus.

The restaurant is far prettier than I expected. Usually Chinese buffets have a dank, muggy feel to them, but at Hunan the interior is bright and spacious. Definitely a step up from the average restaurant of this style
