Simpson's Restaurant

Upon arrival, our cocktails were made to order as described and the bar tender was very astute to our needs.
My Tenderloin was a bit tough but, my wife's Ribeye was grilled to perfection. We ordered the steaks "garlic encrusted" which was a bit much, as were the garlic mashed potatoes served barely able to melt butter. Our waitress was very pleasant and the portions of food were more than I remember them being in years past.
Alas, the roaring natural fireplace was much appreciated on our cold Monday evening date night.

Lovely place for a nice meal. Ran out of the special so you know they are busy.

New Years Eve- ran out of perch special by 5:30, reservation meant nothing as patrons walked in and sat down as allowed. Have eaten here numerous times always favorable. Just do not bother for special occasions!

Disappointed!!! Seated almost 1 hour past reservation time due to their short staffing. Then were told they were out of 3 of 4 featured items (which we went there for). We ordered from regular menu, filet had beautiful grill marks on the outside and very raw inside. Ribeye was like a tough strip steak. Charcuterie tray was very disappointing too.
Lobster bisque was good, as was the salad and baked potato and creme brulee. We won't be going back anytime soon.

Read all of the reviews good or bad. Still decided to give this restaurant a try and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the quality of the product served is top notch and with that comes higher costs. My wife and I had seared ahi tuna appetizer, broiled scallops and the 16oz prime rib.
The ahi tuna was quite excellent, maybe a little bit to much pepper for my wife. The scallops were the best my wife and I ever had. We've traveled all over this country and tried scallops everywhere. Hands down the most sweetest and freshest scallops.

The waitress was wonderful, but my steak was anything but! I could be hardly cut it because of the gristle. I complained to the waitress, check-out person and someone I assumed was the manager. All three talked to the cook who said- "sorry, but when you order a steak rare, that's what you get.". I didn't expect to get my food free, but a discount was certainly in order. I didn't even eat half of my steak!! Won't be going there again!

Food was absolute fire like always, we were first table so service was incredible, highly recommend taking anyone here you are trying to impress.

We looked at the reviews of restaurants for Waupaca, knowing nothing about the area - and liked what I saw on Simpson's. We had a great dinner there. Several choices of appetizers ranging from stuffed avocados, to crab rangoon, to truffle fries (very eclectic). Several choices of seafood and steak. if you wanted to splurge, could even do surf and turf. Beyond that there was chicken, a vegetarian choice or two, and ribs. And, of course, being Wisconsin, there were cheese curds. We found the seafood and steak to be phenomenal. We had the stuffed avocado and crab rangoon and loved it

We had a special family celebration and we were catered to as if we were the only people in the restaurant. The food was excellent as usual and the wait staff was so polite and kind.

If I could, I would give Simpson's more stars!!!!! Simpson's was recommenced to us for dinner while we spend the weekend in Waupaca. They did not disappoint!!!!!! The six of us were seated right away. Our waitress was prompt and very friendly. I had probably the best scallops I have ever eaten in all my travels. They were large, very sweet and cooked perfectly. My steak was equally delicious. Others at our table had the spaghetti and meatballs and beer battered haddock. No one was disappointed. We HIGHLY recommend and cannot wait to visit again!!!!!

Excellent, excellent restaurant! The interior of this establishment is spectacular with brick and herringbone wood walls, soft relaxing lighting accompanied by equally relaxing music, beamed ceilings, and white table cloth settings! The service here is outstanding! My friend and I were warmly greeted by the gentleman tending the bar the moment we walked in the door! We were then equally warmly greeted by our server and sat at our table within minutes! And our orders were promptly taken and delivered to us!

We drove to meet family for dinner and had a fabulous meal, great service, yummy drinks, and then sat by the real fireplace to enjoy an after dinner drink and conversation. A definite must go to place!!

Went back the next night with my sister and her husband. The perch was great and friendly service! It's now our go to place when visiting Wisconsin.

The few times we've been, just at the bar the service was a 2 star rating. The hostess is, every.darn.time snotty.
Every so often I force my husband to try it again, but the food quality combined with the prices, add on less than acceptable service makes it difficult to love.

This place is fantastic!!
The food is of another caliber! Just try the cheese curds. There is none I have tasted better. The atmosphere is as good as the food.

We dove from Wisconsin Rapids to eat at Simpson's last night to celebrate my college graduation.
We arrived to find no seats at the bar so we sat at a nearby table until there was space at the bar for us. We ordered two drinks which were weak. One was a gin and tonic and the other a brandy old fashioned sweet which was nothing special, was subpar, wasn't hand muddled, or homemade and didn't come with the traditional orange and cherry. I even asked for fruit on the last one, twice, but never got it and I could tell the younger bartender who made it didn't know how to make a

This place was great. A decent variety of different foods. I had shrimp and it was out of this world wonderful. My husband had pork and it was fantastic, if a little spicy. The vegetables were roasted and delicious. I really enjoyed them because they had some crunch to them. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, the server even brought us a small dish of vanilla custard with chocolate sauce and whipped cream to share since we had not ordered dessert.
The prices were a little higher, but they do have specials that bring the cost down. We left the server a larger than normal tip, because

We took 25 people here after another restaurant unexpectedly canceled our event in the afternoon.
The staff set us up in a private room, had plenty of servers to make us feel welcomed, and followed-through with a delightful meal.
Everyone (locals and travelers) left happy and we'll make sure to return.

Service was excellent, however food was just okay. Salmon, loaded mashed, and veggies were just too bland for my tastes, and heavily oiled. Drinks were okay, a little on the weak side compared to other area supper clubs, but service at the bar was excellent.

As long as you don't go on a holiday when it's very crowded, the service and quality is good. Usually get the Cobb salad which is normally excellent... went once for Easter and salad was "nasty" and tasted stale, also much of the usual ingredients were left out. Service was slow because not enough help to serve. Had a party of 6 people and most of us had items left out of order. When we told server nothing ever came...waitresses we're frazzled and just couldn't keep up

Bill and I enjoyed our meal. The food was excellent. I had the Chicken Marsala and Bill had ribs and walleye. Soup and salad were excellent. Dinner rolls were fresh and warm. The atmosphere was comfortable

You could tell this is a local favorite with many small groups enjoying each other's company. We went to Simpson's 40 years ago and remembered the great food. It is still great.

Our waitress, Holly, was sweet and bubbly. She was quick to freshen drinks and refill our dinner rolls. The service was excellent.

We will return again when we are in the area. We also will not wait

Simpson's is a local favorite and maybe I was steered the wrong way. Nice white tablecloth restaurant and decent service. I ordered the rack of ribs that say they are smoked daily but they seems a little old to me. Not much of a Smokey flavor at all and the bbq sauce reminded me more of a meatloaf glaze than rib sauce. On a positive note the soup and salad were very tasty!

Very nice atmosphere, friendly staff, quiet clean place. Drinks were good and desert was good, sides, soup and salads were delicious but the fish just wasn't great. Fisherman's Bonanza definitely not worth the $$$, broiled was oily and bland flavor. Parking can be difficult when the theater is busy, try the rear lot.

Lunch, dinner, or late night drinks and entertainment. The clam chowder is outstanding, also the broiled shrimp, and the spinach & artichoke dip makes for a great appetizer.

My wife and I love this place. Great bartenders, great staff, and wonderful food. I recommend the liver and onions. Best I have EVER had. We also love the spinach & artichoke dip for an appetizer.

Last night my girlfriend and I went to eat at Simpson's. We are from Point and wanted to go somewhere we have never been. All of the food was amazing, and all of the tap beer, and wine were perfect!!!!!!!!
