I was greeted warmly, like a good friend. The salon is located on a large dbbl decker pontoon boat(very stable) at Ft. Myers Yacht Basin. Fun atmosphere for men, and women. A short walk to downtown bars, & restaurants. But most importantly, a great haircut! Marcia Schwalm founded Rumours Hair Design in 1983.
Rumours is such an amazing experience. Not only does Marcia do an incredible job on coloring and cutting my hair, it is such a relaxing experience. So disappointing!! I went in for a manicure and a pedicure. Ximena did my service and I was very surprised by the lack of cleanliness. The fan she used to dry my nails literally had dust flying out of it. When I said something her response was, “yes, I need to clean that.” The nail station also lacked cleanliness.
She also ended up cutting my hair! Worst hair cut ever. I specifically told her I only needed a trim. Which she assured me she could do. I told her I did NOT want my sides cut short and she literally told the scissors and cut the side of my hair short! When I said something she responded

Jasmine did an amazing job. 4 days later my card was comprised to the amount of 1500. I am so disappointed. I never use my card except for my hair. Great hairdressing but need a secure payment system.
Now I have to deal with charges that were not mine from this experience.
Always use a credit card and trace it back.

What a unique haircut experience! The business is in a boat sitting on the water. I have never had such a beautiful view for a haircut. The atmosphere was incredibly calm and clean. Haircut price was reasonable. 4 stars because eyebrow waxing was too expensive. Jasmine did an excellent, time-efficient job.

Hands down best salon in the area. Great work at reasonable prices. Everyone is wonderful, attentive, caring, and friendly. You never have to wait more tha a few minutes and then you are warmly greeted and offered a drink- my fave is the chocolate martini - YUM! Cyndi always does a fantastic job with my color and cut, she is always open to new ideas and has an eye for what looks good on you. The whole crew is like a family, and I consider Cyndi my friend, as well as my hair artist. Can’t say enough about this angelic, charming salon...and it’s on a boat as well! An experience all on it's own. Rumours Hair Design is set on the Calusahatchie River in the downtown area of Ft. Myers, FL and it's a houseboat. Ximena was wonderful. She explained things out and listened to my opinions and viola, left there a new client. Loving my new style.
They ofter nail design and massage as well as being color experts. The atmosphere was charming and the staff was lovely. Highly recommend even if one is in the area visiting and wants a treat.

I love Rumours Hair Design! Heather is an absolute magician. I have been seeing her for years but really tested her recently. I was in the Bahamas for several months and didn’t do a thing with my hair. I had regrowth and my blond had turned brassy and yellow. Add to this the fact that it was always up in a clip and my normal color was still there on the back of my head. I knew it was asking too much for Heather to be able to normalize everything in one sitting. Boy was I surprised. She blended everything seamlessly and gave me back my beautiful color. I can’t recommend Heather highly enough
