Services
Founded in 1905, West Orange Animal Hospital has been dedicated to providing the highest quality veterinary medical care to companion animals for over 110 years. As a family-owned practice, we pledge to keep our legacy alive for the next 100 years and beyond to continue providing care to your family throughout the ages.
Our staff at West Orange Animal Hospital understands that bringing your pet in for surgery can be very stressful. We strive to make this experience as stress-free as possible for you and your pet. We believe in utilizing the highest level of medical technology and our surgeons are experienced and highly trained in the latest surgical procedures.
Dental care is vital to the overall health of any animal. Dental disease, if left untreated, can cause infection, pain, and tooth decay over time. It can also lead to major health issues including heart, liver, and kidney disease. In spite of these disturbing facts, greater than 70% of pets over the age of three years old suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population.
At West Orange Animal Hospital, we are excited and proud of our state-of-the-art digital imaging technology. It has always been our goal to provide our clients the very best care and as such, we work hard to keep our equipment up-to-date and provide higher level diagnostic testing. A radiograph ("x-ray") is a type of photograph that can look inside the body and provide information that may not be discernible from the outside.
We understand how stressful it can be when your pet does not feel well. Most laboratory work is performed through routine wellness exams as directed by our doctors to determine your pet's health. For emergencies or sick exams, our lab will run diagnostics to determine the best treatment for your pet.

We recently had to make the hard decision to put our babygirl to rest. The doctors and staff were incredible and when I say above and beyond, that is not even enough to cover the gratitude we have. To the Vet Tech that help us with Tamarind (I sorry I can’t recall your name ) THANK YOU! You treated our Tamrind like she was yours. To the doctors that helped us thank you as well! Your honesty and sincerity does not go unrecognized. Should we decide to get a pet in the future we know exactly where we are going.
From Tamrind’s Moms THANK YOU and you all are in our thoughts as well.

I generally don't like leaving bad reviews but in this case I'm just hoping to save someone else the grief and agony that I've experienced at this vet. Aside from the fact that they're incredibly rude and unhelpful, they recommended my 14 year old dog have some teeth extracted. The anesthesia or post-op meds (or both) ended up killing her 2 days later and when I called them back, out of my mind with grief, to let them know what had happened, they gave me attitude and said it wasn't their fault. Really? That's what you say to someone whose dog just died? I could go on and on about other instances

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value
West Orange animal hospital by far the best in the area. The staff is extremely caring and friendly, the doctors are thorough and professional. I always feel safe and in good hands when I take my pet here. I often wish they were my pediatrician as well.
