Dr. John Morton has served the East Texas region as a large and small animal veterinarian for 45 years. He received his bachelors degree from Texas A&M University in 1968 and graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1969. After graduation, Dr. Morton took an associate veterinarian position with a mixed animal clinic in Mount Pleasant, TX.
Our veterinarians recommend regular wellness exams for the same reason your physician and dentist recommend them. Wellness exams are the best way to prevent or detect disease early before it becomes a serious health condition. Each examination will vary slightly depending on the species, age, and health needs of your pet.
Brookhollow Veterinary Clinic is proud to provide Palestine, TX and the surrounding communities with over-night and day boarding services. Cannot say enough good things! They got us an appointment last minute same day when my puppy suddenly got sick, the staff was courteous and polite, and Dr. Morton was very thorough and the tech that helped us (Justin or Jason I'm so sorry I forgot I had alot on my mind!) went above and beyond to help make sure I had the medication down and the… treatment plan I could follow. I expected a much higher bill and was pleased when it came out less, not only did my puppy pull through (it looked pretty bad for a while) but the tech called me to check up on my puppy, Ember, and make sure things were

Once again thank you to staff and Dr Swanberg. Had my personal cat having digestive issues which she is almost 100%, today has to take to small kittens covered in sarcoptic mange that a neighbor wouldn’t take even though they were hers. The staff and doctor are so nice and helpful. They explained what was going on even showed me the ‘bugs’ under the microscope YUCK! But to me that’s great, they’re being personable not just making you feel like another person bringing in money. So thank you AGAIN for helping these angels. 💛

They took us in, did a fecal test, x rays, and bloodwork. The entire time we had spoken to Dr. Morton, he called our female dog a he. This annoyed us because it felt like he… couldn’t care enough to even say the gender of the dog right. He could find absolutely nothing wrong with her aside from some bone spurs and a high blood level that he said could be fixed with an IV. He also stated that her hips were in
