Study up - Find out about license and insurance requirements for contractors in your state. And before you call a contractor, know the model of your current system and its maintenance history. Also, make note of any uncomfortable rooms. This will help potential contractors better understand your heating needs.
Most air conditioners have their capacity rated in BTUs, or British Thermal Units. A BTU is, generally, the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water one degree F. Specifically, a BTU is 1,055 joules, but the first definition is easier to understand in real-life terms. One "ton", in heating and cooling terms, is 12,000 BTUs.
Many utility companies offer home appliance service plans that provide repair coverage on furnaces, central air conditioners, water heaters, clothes washers and dryers, range/ovens, and many other home appliances. Under these types of plans, the customer pays the company a yearly fee and the company agrees to repair any appliances covered under the plan.
Maintain your equipment to prevent future problems and unwanted costs. Keep your cooling and heating system at peak performance by having a contractor do annual pre-season check-ups. Contractors get busy once summer and winter come, so it's best to check the cooling system in the spring and the heating system in the fall.
The systems you now use or choose to have installed may qualify for energy efficiency savings. You may be able to take the credits if you made energy saving improvements to your home located in the United States in 2020. Homeowners may be able to claim federal tax credits equal to 10% of the installed cost for qualifying HVAC improvements, up to a maximum credit of $500.

I had a problem on a Saturday- Air Squad answered their phone and had a tech at my door in barely an hour.
My system needed replacement so I had several quotes within minutes and the work commenced first thing Monday morning. They even recommended a drywall repair company since a ceiling was destroyed by water and that work was completed by Thursday- can't even tell there was ever a problem.
The owner comes and supervises work and answers questions- really a great polite crew and a first rate job.
I highly recommend.

We purchased our home new in 2004. In 2018, Air Squad replaced both of our HVAC systems with modern, efficient systems. Since then, our home is far more comfortable than when it was new. And, we are saving a bunch on electricity!
I should point out that our Air Squad price was as low as the COSTCO price, for the same equipment.
Icing on the cake: Everyone from Air Squad is so very nice! Dylan just came by for our spring check; he was wearing a mask but I knew he was smiling!

Dylan and the Air Squad team just finished installing two complete systems for our home and we couldn't be happier with the results. The technicians did a very professional job installing the equipment and it's been working great. Dylan took the time to explain all of our options to ensure we had a system set up perfectly for our home. He also made sure we knew how use the thermostat and answered all of our questions prior to leaving. I was very glad to keep it local too. Overall an excellent job by Air Squad!

So glad we selected Air Squad of the four other HVAC companies we got quotes from on replacing our 20 year old system.
They demonstrated the best understanding of our needs and came up with the best solution. Out of all four vendors they spend the time to walk us through both of the pros and cons single, dual, and variable systems. What I really appreciated was how Air Squad was passionate about providing a solution for our family while the others felt more like a sales pitch.

The only good thing is that he fixed the problem what I didn't like the fact is that when I decided I didn't want to continue with the warranty and I would rather have just paid for him fixing the problem and not receiving the warranty.. He flat out refused to make any adjustments that I paid what I asked for.... Clearly a customer has the ability to change their minds... I've had better service from local repairman that were willing to work with me in any way they could...
