If you would still prefer to be served in a curbside capacity, we can certainly accommodate that for you, as well! At this time, we are still open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on weekdays (including Wednesdays) and closed on Saturdays.
We are also closed from noon until 1:30 p.m. daily for staff development. Please call our office with any questions. Services
After working for several years as an associate veterinarian, Dr. McKelroy realized that true freedom to provide the highest quality medicine would only come by opening her own practice. Dr. McKelroy started with a staff of 2 in a 1,500 square foot shopping center space, but it was clear that the practice would outgrow that facility soon.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our CSRs and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Four Paws Animal Hospital is a group practice, where all of our doctors and staff members work together as a team to provide the best care for you and your pet. However, we respect and appreciate the importance of your relationship with your primary veterinarian, so never be afraid to ask for the doctor of your choice.
Early intervention through preventative health care is the key to providing a long and healthy life for your pet!. Recent research in the veterinary field has reinforced the importance of preventative health care, as well as the veterinarian's role in imparting the information this service provides to their clients.
FPAH is equipped with state of the art in-house diagnostic testing equipment including digital x-ray imaging, ultrasonography and in-house lab analyzers. FPAH is able to offer numerous in-house testing options so information is available while you and your pet are in the hospital, and treatment can be started as soon as possible.

Everyone at Four Paws gave wonderful service to our boy Pascal. Without anyone from Four Paws, our boy won't be walking and running with his Four Paws. The happiness and joy in his face cannot countable when he run and walk with his Four Paws. Yes "Four Paws" wonderful animal hospital in the world

I've been taking my 2 dogs and 1 cat to see them for the last couple of years. They detected a heart murmur in one of my chihuahuas and we were able to keep her going with medications for 2 years. Then right before Thanksgiving break, she started refusing food, and it was difficult to give her meds for 3 days. Her heart and lungs filled with fluid and the murmur is much worse. Four Paws only wanted to run more tests and give her more medication. We abided but just 2 days later my dog is so weak and still refusing food. How could they want to keep her going instead of calling it when it is time

My initial visit to Four Paws happened due to an allergic reaction my dog was having due to his yearly shots and the VCA could not see him immediately and told me to find a hospital. I just so happen to be passing Four Paws and they took him in immediately. From there, they have helped me with finding a dental surgeon, doing Zeus’s health checks, helping with his ear infection, and even getting me a health certificate for traveling overseas with my pet. Highly recommend and quite possible the friendliest, helpful, and knowledgeable vet and clinic I have ever been to with any of my pets.

I came in without an appointment, with a very sick puppy. I had to wait less than 30 minutes. Care was given quickly and competently. I was given several treatment options and felt that the pricing was reasonable. I will definitely use 4 Paws for all our animals.

Weirdest thing I've ever been asked to do by a vet office. Pay a deposit for an appointment? Doesn't make sense to me. I've never paid ahead of service in the 20 years I've been taking animals to vets. I can slightly understand taking my card information and if I'm a no show, you charge me. But to charge me when I book the appointment? Nah, I'll find somewhere else. Good riddance.

If I could give zero stars I would. I tried to get my dog boarded for two days and I sent over the paperwork at 9 AM when I was told it was going to be $60. I then put my dog in the car and we head that way (mind you I do not live in Rowlett so it was a drive), and then we get there they didn't even come out to talk to us and we're going back-and-forth on the phone with us while we were sitting in the parking lot and they wanted to charge me almost $200 to get her boarded and had attitude when I was confused on how the price jumped so much. They claimed they did not get the paperwork

I called to see about having Zippy the turtle nails trimmed and was told there would need to be a regular checkup first for about fifty bucks. I said okay and was told the nail trimming would be about fifteen bucks which was fine. I was then told they may have to sedate Zippy for about twenty bucks depending on his attitude which I was also okay with as well and set the appointment up for a few days later.
Two minutes later I got a call back saying they needed a deposit over the phone before the visit. Wait, what?? I offered to pay up front before they saw him but they said he was an exotic pet

I've been taking my Coca here since 2011, entire staff is very attentive & all around awesome. I've had other vets in the past that remove my dog from the room to examine & give shots to. (Which I hated).....not here, your loved one never leaves your site. We board here also, never an issue and Coca loves it. We will be boarding both dogs in March, and I'm more than positive they will be well taken care of. We just got a new addition to the family & during the puppy visit, I think everyone in the office came to check her out. Very good people!!!!

We have been using this place for our dog and cat. Excellent place for pet boarding and vet. Very personal service here. This team is a very caring group of people. We leave our pets here with no worries. We went on a cruise and they took excellent care of both pets. The price is right for the care. In house vet here.
We continue to bring our precious animals to this facility from50 miles away. The vet services are fantastic. Good groomers here also. If your looking for the place that will treat your family pet right, look no further this is the place.

We have been taking our dogs here since they were all born! They know our dogs by name and treat them as they are family. We board, wash and use the vet for check ups and emergencies! Our dogs know the routine and they really need routine to know they are safe. Thank you all for taking such good care of our babies for so many years!

I took my 4 month old lab in for boarding and he has been traumatized. I picked him up covered in urine along with all of his toys and bed. He has been potty trained for two months in my house. They also charged me just to take him outside. I know this is a new place for him but the fact that he is completely covered is ridiculous. I'm sure they let him out once a day. He has a puppy blatter yet they ignored him. He was tested for worms while there. They gave him a deworming medicine even though the doctor had not yet examined him. When I went to pick him up first thing in the morning, they

I would recommend this place to anyone. First time going, I had to put my kitty down. Extremely hard on me but was made better with the employees being warm and comforting, empathetic to my feelings. Talked me threw everything and helped break it down if I didn't understand. A week later still mourning my sweet Theodore, I got a letter from four paws hospital with different employees signatures sending their condolences. Sweetest thing, touched my heart.

Dr McElroy was so nice to us and our poor sick kitty .she took her time with us to be clear of our decision . Our usual vet was 1 hr away so we had his records sent over . The staff was professional and very nice to us. We were grief stricken to have to send our 14.5 yr old Persian over the rainbow bridge but he was so very sick . I recommend this animal clinic and hospital to anyone with a beloved pet . They are wonderful

I just moved to Rowlett, TX from SoCal and needed to find a new vet for my min pin. So glad that I found Four Paws. Dr. McKelroy and her staff Rock! Me and my fur baby girl were warmly welcomed into their vet world. Dr. McKelroy's exam of my fur baby was comprehensive and informative. I toured the lodging facilities as well. It was all good. Loved the 'Report Card' they gave my fur baby at the end of her visit. Best vet experience I've ever had! Thanks Four Paws.

Dr McKelroy and her entire staff are fantastic. We have been taking all our animals for many years to her since moving to Rowlett. We walk through the door, and they know us by name and her patients too. We have tried a few others and NEVER have felt the compassion to our "fur girls" as the Four Paws staff has for them.
In regards to cost, she is a bit higher than some, and even lower than others around town. That however shouldn't make the decision for you on who your animals see. Dr and staffs knowledge is outstanding when it comes to the care for them all, furry, scaly

This is not our vet however, We sent our dog to Doggy Day Care on a few occasions and have boarded our dog here with wonderful results UNTIL...
I sent my daughter to drop off our dog for day care...Long story long, my 17 year old daughter dropped of my dog for daycare. Instead of calling me to say that he needed all his shots updated (which we did three months prior at OUR VET which is NOT Four Paws) they told my daughter that before my dog could go to day care, he had to have his shots. My daughter listened to what they said, since the vet is telling her he needed them our daughter said okay
