Kvinsland Dentistry has been serving Gig Harbor for over 40 years. Dr. Jon Kvinsland established our quality focused environment, with Dr. Eric Kvinsland continuing this tradition in our community today. Leading our practice, Dr. Eric Kvinsland is committed to providing our patients with excellent dentistry.
Dr. Eric Kvinsland was born and raised in Gig Harbor. After graduating from Gig Harbor High School, he attended Washington State University to earn his Business and Human Resource Management degrees and Pacific Lutheran University to pursue a Chemistry degree. Dr. Kvinsland graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry honored with the Guthrie Award for Restorative Excellence.
Dr. Skifstad grew up in Silverdale and now lives in Gig Harbor. She attended University of Washington where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and her Doctorate in Dentistry. She received the Dennis P. Diskin Award for outstanding character, personality and integrity throughout her dental program, it is the highest award given by peers.
Dr. Eric carries on the tradition of giving back to the community with visits to 1st grade classrooms throughout the Peninsula School District, both public and private schools. Kids love his visits. Insurance companies are seeking more control as dentists struggle to provide equal treatment to all patients.

Kvinsland Dentistry? What's not to love about this practice? Eric leads this team of consummate professionals and they treat patients like members of their own family. Eric learned from his father that if you want the best results, hire the best people and he does. Look no further for the best dentistry in town. I've been to a lot of dentists in my 73 years, but none of them compare to this crew.

I was hoping to have a good dental experience, unfortunately I didn't. I came for a crown prep and a filling done at the same time, and was uncomfortable from the start. I had a pain in my temple for months after the procedure. The temp crown had to keep getting adjusted, and I ended up getting a root canal on the tooth. When I finally came back to have the crown placed it seemed to go smoothly. At that time I let the dentist know, "I'm not sure if I want to come back". I explained how I felt she was to aggressive with the drill, and not liberal enough with the novacane. She basically dismissed

We had the BEST experience ever!! After my daughter broke a tooth and going to our life long dentist that treated us poorly, we called Kvinsland office and got in as an emergency within a few hours. Not only did they welcome her with open arms but they comforted her and spent 2 hours to fix her tooth. I am so pleased with how they treated her and made us feel welcome. Hands down we are now changing our whole family’s dentist to this office!!! I can’t thank them enough.

I would highly recommend Dr. Skifstad. We moved from California about a year ago and she has filled a couple cavities for me. My fiancé and I have been patients for about a year now (I have gone in 3 or 4 times, and my fiancé has gone in twice). Everyone at the office has been very friendly, efficient and professional. Very sweet and caring staff.

Our family has been seeing Dr. Kvinsland for years, and we have had nothing but positive experiences. Fantastic, friendly staff....from first walking in the front door, to all of the interactions with hygienists, assistants, and Dr. Kvinsland himself. I recently was treated by Dr. Skifstad for a broken filling. Through the procedure she let me know what was happening and what to expect next. Her presence was calming. I have been a patient there for over 30 years, first with Jon and then Eric, and now with Dr. Skifstad. Desi has always been thorough in the many times I have had cleanings. Thanks to all in the office!

I am leaving this practice. I received a bill where they charged $8 on a $25 balance per month for being late. That is Mafia technique! They also aren't clear on what's covered so you don't know how much you will be paying. There are other dentists who take more insurance plans that have great service. Take a pass.

Went in for my first appointment, and was surprised to see that nobody was wearing a face mask (except me). With Covid numbers all rising here in Pierce County, this office chooses to let four patients AND 3 to 4 staff members be in close proximity without masks. At one point in time ONE staff member showed up behind the counter with a mask. I left. Why? As a reference, All Trader Joe's employees wear masks, Whisky Gulch (small coffee shop in Port Orchard) makes all employees wear a mask. Knowing that you would think a doctor's office would understand the science behind it as well

Of all of the dentists I have had over the years, Dr. Kvinsland is the very, very best. He has a wonderful aesthetic sense and is a perfectionist in his work. I have recently had a lot of dentistry work done that required precision and artistry and I am beyond pleased. My teeth have never looked better. He is caring, kind, and above all, very skilled. His staff is also excellent and very friendly. I truly cannot say enough good things about him.
