At Eastgate Cooperative Preschool, your child will learn through play-based discovery, hands-on exploration, and social interaction with guidance from experienced teachers. When you attend Eastgate Cooperative Preschool, it's not just your child that learns. As a parent working in the classroom, you will gain important skills in working with small children.

As part of the Bellevue College Parent Education Program, monthly education classes provide you with the tools to be successful in the classroom and at home. Being part of a co-op like Eastgate Cooperative Preschool comes with many rewards. As parents, you will witness your child's growth and development firsthand.
Services
We understand that your child's education is important to you. At ECP, you will be able to observe your child's growth and play a significant role in your child's success. As a co-op parent, you are an integral part to the children's learning experience. You'll assist the teachers in the classroom to provide a safe and nurturing environment, help keep the preschool running smoothly, and help establish a love of learning.
Parents and children gather in the gathering room to begin the day. Parents read books to the children; students greet one another. The teacher begins with a song and welcomes everyone to preschool. She presents examples of the various choices of activities for the day and then invites the children into the preschool room.
Kirsten has taught in a unique variety of preschool programs including Greenplay Cooperative, an exclusively outdoor nature based preschool, Creative Development Lab, a "loose parts" creative art focused enrichment program and Sammamish Toddlers.

With over a decade as a parent participant holding a variety of board and volunteer positions in Bellevue College Cooperative Preschool programs with her own 3 children, Kirsten is passionate about play based learning and the cooperative preschool model.
Because our space has many activities that may not be safe for children under 3, siblings can only come to class if they are in a carrier up to 6 months of age. If you have an infant under 6 months of age, you may wear your infant in a secure baby carrier while working in the classroom. Babies in car seats or strollers are not allowed in the classroom during class hours.
Located in the lower level of the Eastgate Congregational Church in a spacious, well-lit, walk-out basement. Come see our preschool in action and/or tour our facility. Contact the ECP registrar to schedule a facility tour! Tours are only available during the school year. An open house is typically held in the spring and fall.

My son loved attending preschool here! The co-op model is unique because it helps both parents and children learn and grow together. Teacher Kerste is awesome and the school is a great way to get to know other families in the community!

We love going here for preschool. There are such fun indoor activities and the outdoor play area is nice a large, plus it's fully fenced which gives me extra peace of mind.

We loved our experience at Eastgate Cooperative Preschool. As a play based preschool, our son had plenty of opportunities to make choices, something that a lot of children these days don't get to do very often. The teachers at ECP are phenomenal. Teacher Shirley is absolutely fantastic with the kids. She has a very calming demeanor that the children respond very well to. Teacher Kerste is not only great with the kids, but as the parent education teacher, she taught me so much about becoming a better parent. I wish I could take them both home with me! I would highly recommend ECP to parents who
