Steele Cooperative Preschool
Founded in 1982, Steele is a highly-rated cooperative Denver preschool serving Colorado children. Lauded for its one-room-school-house environment, play-based curriculum, and age-appropriate commitment to Kindergarten preparedness, it is the only cooperative preschool still operating in Northwest Denver.

As a cooperative, Steele involves parents actively and directly in their children's earliest education. This approach gives families a sense of continuity between home and preschool, creates a sense of community for students and parents, and keeps tuition costs down. Under the tenants of a cooperative, Steele parents work alongside teachers in the classroom.
Services
Students attend class two mornings a week. Each class period is 2 hours. We look forward to meeting you and invite you to come visit the school for a tour or Open House. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. Submit a non-refundable $35 registration fee ($15 for each additional child in a family).
Our CLASS-rated teachers have a close working relationship with the Denver Preschool Program. Working within the framework of the school's play-based curriculum, Steele staff members utilize nationally-recognized tools like Handwriting Without Tears to teach skills such as writing, letter, and print recognition; number awareness; and the emotional aptitude necessary for success in Kindergarten.
We are a part-time program and follow a traditional school calendar from September through May. No exceptions are made for minimum age requirements. If a spot becomes available, you will be notified. Our program is play-based providing a broad range of learning experiences including how to participate in groups, how to cooperate, and how to share.
Steele Cooperative Preschool values and supports families. We are pleased to offer our families a comprehensive scholarship program. Our ability to offer scholarships is dependent upon the financial condition of our preschool and available scholarship funds. Scholarship awards cover one academic school year, September-April, with the exception of the deposit - the full monthly tuition rate is required and is applied to May's tuition.
Educators believe that a partnership with parents is the biggest factor in a child's success in school. Besides involving parents directly in their child's education, the cooperative also gives children a sense of continuity between home and preschool, fosters friendships, instills a sense of community for both students and parents, and keeps tuition costs down.

I can't imagine a better place for my children to be introduced to school. Wonderful teachers, wonderful community. So glad we found Steele.
