We here at the Sourek funeral home operate as a family and are family owned. The Sourek Funeral Home has had the privilage of serving the Cicero community since 1979.

The Sourek family showed the outmost respect for our family and our mother who passed away. The way they handled the process showed reverence for the dead. Father, mother, son and their coordinator do an excellent job, and all were so pleasant to work with. It was beautiful that they incorporated driving past my mother's house after mass; it was beautiful that they placed a Virgen de Guadalupe inside my mother's casket -- thank you. We also appreciate how they asked us to place flowers on her coffin at the burial. For reasons such as these, they deserve to be supported by the community. We recommend

Our whole entire family is very sad with the service we experienced there for my grandmothers funeral. The coordinator was nothing but disrespectful. She had my grandmas information all wrong. Nothing good to say about her at all. On a positive note the owners are amazing I don’t know how they have someone like Isabel working for them because the son is so sweet and happy to explain the process step by step. Leaving a review for a funeral home is not something I planned on doing this week. Our family used the services for an immediate family member.
First and foremost, I must give praise where it is most due and that is with the Office Manager, Isabel. She truly went above and beyond to facilitate the painful navigation of planning a funeral for a loved one. Her professionalism with added sensitivity and knowledge in her trade allowed for thorough communication of what was to be expected throughout the whole process and what our family needed to prepare for. Director was not present during the visitation f my mother, hair and makeup were not up to expectations, or should say none, place was dirty. Had the lights been on when I made the arrangements I would have gone elsewhere. Although the office manager, Isabel, was very helpful and apologetic, it wasn't her fault. They were also late getting to the cemetery the next day, by thirty minutes.
