Learning through a private school, Paul Mitchell, in downtown Portland with its structured system was beneficial in my career as a stylist. Since then, I have had extensive training certifying me as a Color Specialist, but I'm also 2x certified in tape-in extensions. I have a passion for Color Corrections and Blonding, being that I'm creative in and out of my field, I love providing my clients with the best version of themselves.

I am Amanda Tangeman, I've been in the beauty industry for 19 years. Doing hair is my passion! As soon as I graduated from Cosmetology school, I was an Apprenise under one of the top hair stylists in Portland, Or. Ever since I was a little girl I've absolutely loved keeping up with the latest fashion trends.
The founder BeautyWork was raised in Portland, OR. Jacqueline has been in the customer service and operations industry for over 13 years and have been an enthusiast of anything beauty. After 12 years of being a lash client and part time beauty maker, she decides to combine her passion in beauty and experience in business to create BeautyWork.

Loved this place! Just moved from out of town and was looking for places and found this gem! I got highlights and a haircut by Maddie. So far the best hair service I've ever gotten. I definitely will make this my place to go. They also have a little shop with little things at the front for hair products, love the aesthetic.

I recently moved to Vancouver and have had the pleasure of getting to know Bailey. I am so lucky to have found her! Very professional, kind, and knows exactly what to do to make my hair look the way I want it to. On top of that it truly is a fun experience coming here, which I've never been able to find in a salon. Also, during covid, the salon itself has been very clean and Bailey has made me feel extremely comfortable. Cant say enough positive things about this salon and Bailey specifically.

I've been coming to Kerry for years now. Whatever look you're going for, she's got you covered. She will be realistic with your expectations and walk you through exactly how she can achieve your goals and what to do to maintain your look. I've gotten numerous things done to my hair from all over lightener and back to dark. I'm naturally dark brunette and it took me several sessions to achieve a silver gray, but my hair was never once damaged in the process and I've always gotten compliments on any style I've had, all a direct reflection of Kerry's work. I just recently moved to Vancouver, WA. I have been trying to find a salon near me so I wouldn't have to go across Oregon anymore and I found this little gem on google! They have an outstanding reputation and their reviews are all 5/5! I called and booked an appointment with Baily! Let me tell y'all, she KNOWS HAIR! She worked some magic on my blonde. Amazing!! After dying my hair dark for over 15 years, I decided to give my naturally lighter hair a shot. Hillary listened and took her time lightening my hair over a few visits careful not to shock me or my hair. I get so many compliments on how natural the color looks-exactly what I was looking for! I love the vibe of this sweet salon and the girls are so incredibly talented at what they do!

I have been going to Hilary for over 2 years now and I would not want to go to anyone else!! I used to be a dark haired brunette and then one day I decided I wanted to try out being a blonde. I wasn't sure at first how far I wanted to go and Hilary understood and we took baby steps. Every session I had with her has been amazing! I always get what I want and leave the salon feeling more confident! She has done such an amazing job taking care of my hair and making me the blonde I want to be! Location: Part of the reason why I chose this salon in the first place was because it is located in the Academy building. I was married at the Academy, so it has a soft spot in my heart. I also appreciate that parking was easy. The salon is located at the back of the building, so it isn't actually inside of the Academy, but I think that makes it easier to find. The inside is cute and stylish and has a lovely feel to it.

The cute salon is located in the Academy building and there are two stylists. I had my appointment with Kerry and she was great. I got a haircut also wanted bangs so Kerry was helpful to suggest getting bangs on the longer side and work my way to shorter bangs because there is no going back with short bangs in the case I hated it which is so true haha. I would highly recommend Kerry at Urban Glow to anyone. She is so friendly.
