The Cezh center is a hidden gem in the heart of museum district. We planned a reception here back in the fall and Marwin and the other staff were wonderful in helping us. We were allowed a tour, as well as help with various vendors in the area. The pictures, artwork and beautiful chandeliers were a perfect touch to our event! They also have a nice gift shop and a fair amount of parking!
They are also non profit and will definitely use them for other events!

It is a very beautiful building. The art is very unique and they provide helpful handouts throughout the museum for self guided tours. Everyone was very nice and I overall had a very pleasant time. Definitely worth checking out. Plus, you cannot really beat $6 admissions! Also, their gift shop is filled with lots of special items as well as a nice array of books. I am looking forward to returning for some of their craft events!

Last weekend, my music group, The Nightingale Trio, played at the Czech Center and we had an amazing experience. The space was absolutely beautiful and acoustically awesome--perfect for an intimate concert evening or event. It was a pleasure to sing there and also an absolute pleasure to meet the staff, who were so generous with their sausages and beer (which were excellent!). They made us feel so comfortable and welcome, and I could tell the audience had a great experience due to their hospitality as well. Highly recommend!

Only in one of the most diverse cities in the United States would you find an opening gala for a Vietnamese art exhibit in a Czech Center Museum.
The Czech Center Museum is truly a hidden gem in the museum district. The museum houses the largest collection of Czech Art Deco pottery, porcelain and glass in the US. Eric and Barbara Spatny Ottervik collected almost 1300 pieces which were crafted between the two World Wars from approximately 1918 and 1938 which they donated for all to enjoy.
The museum also is a place for lectures, art exhibits and even weddings.

Step out of your museum comfort zone with a trip to the Czech Center. An official, yet relatively unknown, part of the Houston museum district scene, this place offers something truly different. Admission is $6/adult, $3/child which includes a mandatory private tour. In this case, mandatory is good. As the Center is largely pottery, art, and Czech artifacts, unless you have prior knowledge you will benefit greatly from the stories and history that the tour provides. We came on a Saturday afternoon and were the only visitors and were treated to a private tour with Clay. Clay was excellent and we

Arriving to Houston I got to know how important the Czech culture is in Texas. Well, the Czech Center Museum is the right place to learn about it! On a beautiful building at the Museum District you can see lots of interesting things, from history to folklore, from paintings to crystal. Do not miss the beautiful Ottervick pottery collection on third floor, it is amazing! The great halls that are able to rent for social or corporate events held antique and modern collections, you will learn a lot! Awesome place to visit, and you can drink Czech beers, they do have a large variety...!

Sheer serendipity! I came for a look-see, and found delightful people, beautiful objects, and a museum in a stage of growth and development, with lots of potential for the future. For those who love pottery, porcelain, there's plenty here. A generous donation by a well-known family in Baltimore has their collection bulging, and awaiting proper display and signage. Anyone know someone with time, money, and know-how? Every floor has a grand Petrov piano that plays beautifully. The second floor is a rentable venue for receptions, meetings, and similar events. There is a full kitchen, lovely

Kolaches and Polka music... was my exposure to Czech culture until today.
I was recently on an audio tour of Houston's museum district and they mentioned the Czech Museum. So headed on over. I came up to the building and noticed the operating hours were open now but I couldn't open door. There was a bell so I went ahead and rang it.
I was graciously let in by Olivia, which would be my private tour guide.
The Czech Museum is the newest addition to the official Houston Museum district so it doesn't get a lot of traffic. I was glad though because I was able to get a personal
