It can be intimidating, but know this, everyone their has had their first day in a CrossFit gym. We've all been there. No one is going to be "watching" you, they are going to be working out with you focusing on their own workout. You are not going to get in the way or slow anyone down. Please try not to be nervous, we have a great community that is very supportive.
If you are on an extended leave for any reason (other than, I just didn't make it in), we will put your membership on hold. All memberships are due the first week of the month. If you sign up half way through the month (or anywhere in between) your membership will be prorated to the first of the next month.
There is usually an instructor led skill or lift taught and performed, especially for new members. I was wondering if you had a mandatory beginners class? I am already pretty athletic and I am trying to shift my focus from body building to a more functional type of training. Do you also have any type of showers in the facility?
Utility is open 7 days a week with the hope that we're making class times available to more people. Out of those 7 days we program workouts for 6 days, with Sunday being Open Gym. This presents an interesting situation for designing workouts. Rest days are an integral part of any physical fitness program, CrossFit is no exception.
There is much more than just the WOD that makes a person fitter. Nutrition, rest/recovery, mobility, and flexibility are also a large part of the equation. We offer Yoga at least 4 times a month (usually once a week) at no extra charge. If you've been to any of our normal classes you know we put a great deal of emphasis on good position and quality movement.
