I fell in love with psychology in my very first University of Louisiana class. I couldn't and still can't get enough of the subject. In 2007, I was privileged to live my passion and began seeing clients and deepening skills taught through schooling and trainings. The skills I use utilize a therapeutic approach that involves growth, unfolding and full development of the individual within a gentle and non-judgmental atmosphere.
At Hope Healing Joy Counseling Center, LLC in Lafayette, LA, I am able to provide marriage counseling and family counseling that makes a difference. This weight of guilt, shame, and defectiveness we carry keeps us from connecting with others in the way that we truly desire. It does not have to be that way.
Everyone deserves to wake up each morning positive, and with hope for the day. Having worked in a wide range of counseling settings, I am prepared to help you reach your goals. Fear, lack of motivation, and low self-esteem can keep us from living a fulfilled life. Making the decision to seek professional help can be very difficult.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor(LPC-S), and also carry certifications of NCC and CSOTP. I graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2013 with a Master's of Science degree in Counseling Education and have worked in a variety of mental health settings, which include inpatient and outpatient mental health clinics, correctional facilities, private practice, and school systems.
Seeking help can be the first courageous act in achieving a higher quality of living. I enjoy working with a wide variety of populations dealing with multiple issues, such as depression and anxiety. I am especially passionate about working with the LGBTQIA+ population and individuals struggling with relationship issues.

I've had multiple families that I have referred to this agency come back with positive results. Great agency, especially Sara Sullivan.
