As a therapist I provide many services to my clients that may be difficult to find elsewhere, such as Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis for physiological problems such as chronic pain, poor sleep, or migraines, for example; as well as behavior modification or simply learning to cope with an old, undesirable habit.

I am a native of Lafayette and have lived here for over fifty years. My wife Bonnie and I were married in 1977 and we have two adult daughters. In my first life, I was a petroleum engineer, drilling, completing and producing oil and gas wells in Louisiana and Texas.

Counseling / Therapy begins with an intake interview appointment where you will bring in with you a completed client questionnaire for either Adults or Children/Adolescents. These forms are located on the "Forms" page of this website. You will also be required to sign a consent form in order to proceed with Counseling / Therapy.
Clinical Hypnosis is a treatment modality utilized by a professional, typically in the mental health or medical healthcare fields, for the benefit and wellbeing of the person being hypnotized; as opposed to stage hypnosis, which is utilized for entertainment.
Stage hypnosis, which is not what we are interested in here, is a form of hypnosis whereby a hypnotist interacts with a willing subject and facilitates that individual's desire to go into trance and perform in front of an audience.The individual would not do anything in trance that they would not do out of trance; therefore, the individual is ultimately participating in the stage act and would do so willingly anyway.

Mr. Camo is a great person! These days it’s hard to find good people much less people that will go out of their way to right a wrong! A lot of people are controlled by money, it’s extremely rare to find someone that isn’t. I can say without a doubt that Mr. Camos isn’t. I believe he is God sent. He stands up for what is right in a world gone wrong. I thank God that he was put in my life because I really believe that now the courts will see the whole picture, instead of what is convenient. I saw Dr Camos for some irrational fears that I was having due to anxiety. It was crippling and taking away my peace of mind/joy. I was in a really dark place. Just a few visits with Dr Camos and my mental health improved tremendously! I often tell others that we was my angel on earth / heaven sent! I still to this day use the techniques he taught me to deal with every day life issues. I highly recommend Dr Walter Camos!

I am very fortunate to have found Walter when I did. He is a very sweet and knowledgeable counselor, and helped me through the most traumatic incident of my life. i was recovering from having my neck broken when I was hit by when unlicensed, uninsured driver. I was in a wheelchair for a year, depressed as all get out, not sure if I could ever work again. Through all that Walter helped me to become strong and successful. Somehow, I'm even better than I was before. I have him to thank for my life.
