Kids First Pediatric Dentistry has been founded on the fundamental principle of serving children in a comfortable, friendly, culturally-sensitive and professional atmosphere. Our mission is to provide the finest comprehensive oral health care for infants, children and adolescents, including the ones with special healthcare needs.
Julie has been with Kids First Pediatric dentistry since 2013. She relocated to the Austin area from Arkansas to attend dental hygiene school at Wharton County Junior College. While in school, she was awarded the Colgate STAR Award for compassion in patient education and community service.
She takes pleasure in educating children and parents in how to prevent tooth decay while making dental visits a fun experience so that families can be excited about return visits.In her free time she enjoys traveling, playing with her dog Mera, cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks and catching up with friends and family back home.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends your child's first visit to the dentist to occur by his/her 1st birthday. With your help, we can make this initial visit the most positive experience possible! Inform your child of the appointment. Tell your child that the dentist wants to get to know him/her; present this visit as an exciting experience for yourself and for your child.
Dental emergency after our regular office hours: we have made arrangements for the "on-call" doctor to help you. Please call our office at 512-219-9827, and our telephone message will give you the contact information for the doctor on call. Over-the-counter children's pain medication, dosed according to your child's weight and age, might ease the symptoms.
The office attempts to schedule appointments at your convenience and when time is available. Preschool children should be seen in the morning because they are fresher, and we can work more slowly with the child for their comfort. School children with a lot of work to be done should be seen in the morning for the same reason.

I've had some horrible dentist experiences - especially with dentists taking advantage of my brown children and falsifying cavities to rake in profit. This place is so good! The dentist is kind, informing, straightforward, and honest. The hygienists are great with kids and explaining the procedures to them. I truly trust this facility with the dental care of my children!

Thank ya’ll so much for helping me for 14+ years!!! I came to Kid’s first when I was 4 years old. The staff is amazing, super friendly, and very family oriented!! Dr. Mendoza, Ms. Julie, and the rest of the staff have become part of my family. I highly recomend Kid’s First Dentistry to anyone looking for a dentist for their children!

We have been coming here since my first kid was three. We LOVE this place. Dr. Mendoza is all about prevention. She’s thorough and friendly. The entire staff is helpful especially with my full schedule. I have four kids that see her and I appreciate all the precautions they took and take during the pandemic. We have always felt so safe and welcomed coming here.

We have been taking our kids to Kids First since they were both 2. Dr Mendoza and Adriana Galvan are the most professional and courteous staff they have and I love their level of professionalism while ensuring our kids aren’t ignored just because the adults are speaking. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist thanks to their amazing staff.

It’s was my daughter’s first time coming to Dr. Mendoza (we moved her in Dec. 2019), and she was a little nervous since I wouldn’t be able to come in with her. When she got done she had nothing but amazing things to say about everyone! Dr. Mendoza came out to my car and was very informative in what my daughter had done, and what would happen in the future. I’m so happy we were able to find my daughter a dentist she likes in the area!
