Our mission is to provide up-to-date veterinary care to the Westbank. By investing in advanced equipment and the education and training of our staff, we aim to offer multiple techniques and methods in the treatment and prevention of disease. New procedures and medications are constantly being evaluated, shared and discovered by practicing and research veterinarians around the globe.

These represent new strategies to address problems - old and new. It's our job, and promise, to learn about these novelties and offer them to you if they are safe and effective. Our mission is to provide comprehensive veterinary care to the Westbank. From nail trims to orthopedics, bathing to dentistry, we strive to be your easy one-stop shop because traveling with pets can be such a headache for you and your beloved companion!
Services
Preventing health problems in your pet is a lot easier than treating health problems that have already developed. The fact that animals cannot communicate their illnesses and often instinctively hide them means we are usually at a disadvantage when making diagnoses and planning treatments.

At Westside Veterinary Hospital, your initial consult with one of our doctors will include a question-and-answer session where we will determine what your individual pet(s) require to protect them from preventable diseases. We will create a preventative care plan, which will include physical exam appointments, parasite control (including heartworm, flea, and tick prevention), vaccinations, and periodic lab testing customized for your pet.
A native of the Westbank of New Orleans, Dr. Pivach was raised in Belle Chasse. She is a graduate of St. Mary's Dominican High School. Upon completing high school, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Dr. Vichot was born and raised on the Westbank of New Orleans. He attended St. Andrew the Apostle and Isidore Newman Schools before heading to Wake Forest University in North Carolina for his undergraduate degree. His love of science and animals brought him to Baton Rouge the following year where in 2007 he graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Jenna is our Registered Veterinary Technician. She was born and raised in Plaquemines Parish on the Westbank of New Orleans. She graduated from Ursuline Academy High School in 2014 and has worked in the veterinary field ever since. She went on to receive her Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology degree from Delgado Community College in 2017.
Small animals have the same internal organs as humans and can develop just as many diseases with their involvement. Thorough and careful physical exams coupled with an in-house laboratory and a variety of imaging options helps our veterinarians target the problem as quickly as possible for treatment.

Dr. Vichot and team are the best around! They take care of all three of my dogs and are always spot on, from routine care to emergencies. There’s no one I trust more with my animals. Dr. Vichot is always willing to help and his staff are absolutely the kindest people on the planet. We love our friends over at Westside!!

Doctor Vichot and the whole staff were terrific handling our Leo's 'emergency' trip into the office late in the afternoon.
We were call-ahead walk-ins and they made it all as comfortable as possible for us.
Leo the dog received some necessary medical treatment, and some pills for later, and is doing much better, thank you.
Excellent experience.

Took a friend of mine's pet there. The young lady who came out to the car to get her was so sweet. We had an issue trying to get her back in the car because she's a big dog and hard to put up in there and she's older. The vet himself came out just a total sweetheart. I got a feeling of someone who really cares about animals and is not just a Vet but a Vet who loves his job

Very kind, knowledgeable and courteous! The doctors are amazing and don't try to squeeze money out of you, I have worked for many vets both on the east and westbank and I can honestly say ill be sticking with these guys for general practices and small surgeries. Also a perk that my family does the computer work there and services them! Small world, just learned that. Highly recommend.

Best all around VET. I normally don't make recommendations but this is an exception to the rule... I have already made 3 recommendations and they can't stop thanking me enough. DR. Daniel takes care ❤ of your pet as if it was his own. He explains everything' never rushes' and the cost before he proceeds. His staff is very friendly and handles your pet with 💘. Clean location.
