Services
It is our mission to provide children with "A Safe Place" to grow, learn, play, and explore the world in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate program. This is to foster active learning, support the child, and provide a child-friendly environment. We envision to holistically affect your child in all aspects of developmental learning as we strive to be the top choice provider of childcare services in all areas we serve.
Play is our main inspiration. We are strong advocates of learning through play and letting children explore their environment to create their own learning experiences. At A Safe Place we use the Creative Curriculum by Teaching Strategies. The Creative Curriculum is a play, and project based learning curriculum that supports our teachers in creating and developing meaningful and developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
We represent a supportive version of an extended family, working together in the upbringing of quality care and education for your child. A Safe Place is a privately owned, 5 star rating, NAEYC accredited center, that is currently partnered with other programs in our state. We are currently partnered with Early Head Start (Telamon), NC-PreK (Wake County Smart Start), and the North Caroline Child Care Subsidy program.

The owner of A Safe Place brought the first five star center to Southeast Raleigh because she was raising her own children in the area, and felt like she shouldn't have to leave her own community to receive quality care. Over 25 years after its conception, A Safe Place has done nothing but improve upon that standard. From its natural playground to its tasting and production gardens, the center continues to break the mold. With its strong emphasis on nature, children do spend a lot of time outdoors year round, so I advise parents to dress their children appropriately for the seasons. All in all

A Safe Place was a safe haven for my daughter after receiving a horrible experience at a different school. Once she starting going here, the change in her reaction to school was immediate. Before her first week was over she seemed more engaged and eager to learn. Getting to know her teachers that year really showed us the direction of the school.
Since then, not only did my daughter graduate already learning to read, but my son is a current student and is well on his way to doing the same. Asking him about his day always ends with how much his teachers and his friends made him happy.

I love their outdoor learning curriculum and their support for outdoor learning environments. The fact that I know that my daughter is learning in a natural inspired place, instead of fake structures brings me so much joy. I love her learning to love and embrace nature, and that she gets to go outside everyday. Her teachers communicate with me weekly about their activities and lesson plans. I have been able to see growth in all the areas of her development, but most importantly on her social emotional development. She has gone from crying to confidently saying "I want to go to school today" and

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness, Value
My granddaughter is currently enrolled in the center on Clarendon Rd. She loves her teachers. They are very professionals and we have seeing an improvement on my granddaughter’s social skills since she started attending to the center. We love the center, their staff, professionalism, and the quality of services 🤩

I could not imagine a better place for my daughter to start off her educational journey. I loved watching her grow from not wanting to leave my side to now skipping in to class. I love the focus they out on outdoor play, I think it’s great for her to experience that. My daughter loves having the garden during crop season and being able to enjoy fresh produce she “helped” grow. I also have been so impressed with the teachers she has had and their commitment to helping her learn, grow, and have fun.

This place has no accountability for any incident that occurs. My niece was stabbed with a fork and abused by a child on multiple occasions(same child each incident) and the staff took no responsibility for what happened. They brush things off and sweep them under the rug! There is no reason why my niece or any other child should have to deal with this when there are trained staff there to monitor them. Do NOT send your kids here.

I find a lot of their staff to be highly suspicious and not genuine besides 2 ladies I’ve seen at drop off. Only the hispanic girl speaks with enthusiastic tones.
My child was injured by another student multiple times, instead of coming up with solutions they victim blamed and minimized their responsibility for what happened. My kid just kept getting hurt.
Instead of going forward with care, they kept sending mixed signals about being more attentive to my kid. It was like they wanted to make my kid seem like a problem when in actuality it’s the other unsupervised kids who act out. It’s

I strongly advise you don't send your Preschooler here, the education falls short immensely. They allow your child to be outside for way too long in the cold weather, they even permit them to play in water when it's 40 degrees outside… their staff is inattentive and don’t take the parents concerns seriously. For the overall safety of your little one , I would suggest never sending your child/children here !
