CCB Martial Arts provides martial arts training in Concord, Ca. We are focused on helping you build a higher level of self-confidence, self-esteem and self-defense. We offer martial arts instruction for adults, juniors and children. Our goal at CCB Martial Arts is to create and deliver tools that empower you to achieve your full potential by breaking through self-limiting beliefs.
We owe it to them to show and support their discovery of themselves through the values of hard work and commitment, which is a vital part of character building. Of course we still have fun as well. As a community of mentors, parents and peers we have worked with many children to put them on a path towards self-confidence by setting goals and facing challenges.
Seibukan Jujutsu is a martial art developed to meet the self-protection and self-development needs of modern times. You learn self-defense against armed and unarmed, single and multiple assailants. The effective and practical applications of this martial art are preceded by learning and using: pressure points, kicks and strikes to the body as distractions, or to appropriately control and subdue an attacker.
Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu is a traditional Japanese martial art that teaches you effective ways of self-protection using timing, distancing, and angling. Multiple attacks, weaponry, striking, grappling, choking, leaping, rolling, and throws are all disciplines incorporated into the training of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu.
CCB Martial Arts and the director Jon Rodriguez Hanshi are please to offer a martial arts intensive training program called Uchideshi. The term of your training is at least one year. As you immerse yourself in the intensive martial arts training, you learn first hand from Rodriguez Hanshi about the inner workings of Seibukan Jujutsu.

Okay, so I went here for about 2 years back in 2016. The martial art is practical, but incomplete using many forms of martial arts, but mainly using Aikido techniques in a more forceful way. I even learned some Batto-Jutsu (how to use a sword). They rank you up too soon without having you properly cementing the techniques. Not to mention the techniques don't seem to be taught as well compared to if you went to an actual master of the original martial art since these techniques are moderately developed, but not fully fleshed out. Their principles are practical though as you study various things

CCB has been great for my daughter. Sensi Rosie and Hanshi Jon are patient, kind, and fun and create a wonderful environment for learning and training. Now that my 7 year old has some skills she does forward rolls, backward rolls, and knee walks everywhere!! Highly recommended if you have an active child who needs to channel some energy...

My 8 year old son has been coming here for the past year and this place has met and exceeded both mine and my husbands expectations. I can truly say my son loves coming to his classes twice a week and looks forward to learning new techniques. Not only only has this place taught him the wonderful art of jujutsu, it has also boost his confidence and challenges him mentally, physically and socially. Jon and Rosie (along with the other instructors) are nothing but awesome, patient, passionate and wonderful role models. I highly recommend this place đź‘Ť

Hanshi is an amazing teacher. He is clear, pristine in the way that he communicates, and kind. Rosie is a very good teacher and helped me get acclimated when I was brand new. All of the students of CCB have been helpful and welcoming towards me. I could not have picked a better place to begin my training in martial arts.

I have two kids in the CCB kids program, and I highly recommend it.
My boy/girl twins started classes 18 months ago when they were 5. Finding an activity that would be a good fit for both of them was a challenge. My daughter was very athletic, but at that point, my son was less coordinated. I wanted an activity where they would not be in competition with each other. CCB has been a wonderful fit for both of them. My son has become more comfortable in his body and developed better reflexes and control. My daughter has loved the opportunity to use her athleticism in a structured way and grow stronger

Hands down this is the best martial arts dojo in the area. I did extensive research before brining my son here and after visiting five other locations, none of them could even compare to CCB. The level of attention, detail and care that the instructors have for their students (our kids) is top notch. They are both experts in their field and preach and practice what they teach. This is not a place to learn how to beat someone up or some type of MMA chop shop. It's the complete opposite. CCB is designed around experienced and caring instructors who set a remarkable tone and culture for their

My daughter started to attend jujutsu over 2 years ago when we just moved to US. She spoke zero English at that time. This place was fantastic and still is, not only she learns martial arts but also gets so much value, motivation and inspiration from her teachers. Dojo helped her with English too, which is really great! We love this place!

The best Japanese style Jujitsu Dojo in the Bay Area, without a doubt. Having done countless trial programs and "free classes" to find a new martial art to practice, I only needed one class here to know the instructors are serious, kind, and powerful expert professionals with a gift for teaching the subtleties of martial arts - especially one as nuanced as Seibukan Jujitsu. I signed up immediately. Everyone there is a pleasure to deal with, and it is full of serious martial artists and they manage to be jovial, fun, and very good at what they do. I cannot attend class as often as I want, but it

I take lessons in the art of Enshin Itto Ryu Battoujutsu, which focuses exclusively on the Japanese Katana. The folks at the dojo are welcoming while still pushing all students to succeed. Starting a Martial Art was the best decision I could have made for my own personal growth. That could have happened anywhere, in any number of dojos, yet I landed here. I've now been here for over 2 years, so what keeps me coming back? It's that nurturing attitude coupled with the push to improve. That plus the awesome community of both other students and masters make for a wonderful environment

So this review is just for the Jedi training party that they do. We had a birthday party for our sons 6th birthday. It was an awesome experience! The kids had a great time with Jedi Master Matt. He was firm but fun with the kids. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Since we had over 15 kids it was $250 plus the cost of the light sabers for each child, which ran about $3.25 each. But it was worth it for the experience.
Downsides: The space for parents to observe the fun was limited as the mat space was pretty much taken up by the kids and chairs weren't allowed on it.

An outstanding place for children, regardless of the martial arts side. We found this place about 1 year ago because it was close to our house. We really didn't know much about it nor was there that many reviews. We took our chances and our kids loved it. Not only are the professional and highly skilled but have a great program to teach children life goals. They teach discipline, forgiveness, patience, respect, obedience... They have the skills to connect with children of all ages, even the toughest personalities and are able to turn their energy into a great skill to learn a new technique

My 7 year old daughter has been attending the kids class here for 4 months, and she absolutely loves it! The teachers and staff here make sure your child succeeds. They love what they do and are absolutely wonderful at it! Every day my daughter is asking when is jujutsu class. She has only been attending for 4 months, but has already made the commitment in her head to get her black belt. I can not say how amazing this dojo is. We absolutely love this place. they make sure you feel like family.

I make the drive up from Santa Cruz to train at Contra Costa Budokan frequently, and every time, I leave with a fresh perspective on my training and personal growth as a martial artist. CCB has an enthusiastic atmosphere and regularly hosts exciting, detailed seminars. However, most importantly, the head teacher, Jon Rodriguez Sensei, as well as the other instructors, are dedicated to teaching their students in the most pure and powerful way possible. I am always impressed by the students' passion for and dedication to learning and improvement. Among other things, this dojo has a great kids program

So I recently enrolled my 9 year old son in the kids classes. I've been coming to the adult classes for 18 months.
I wish my parents brought me here. They teach kids like their adults and they rise to the challenge. The instructor gives motivational talks in class and gets the kids involved. All t he higher belts help the lower belts and i really think this is brilliant, it reinforces what they know and teaches patience. And the bottom line is these kids know their stuff. If you watch one class you will see for yourself. I really cannot say enough about this school.

About three years ago I first reviewed Contra Costa Budokan as a parent. Now I am writing as a student as well.
My son continues in the juniors program and I am still so thrilled. My son's personal growth is directly related to the guidance and support he gets through Rodriguez Shihan, his Senpai and mentors, the Contra Costa Budokan extended family and the Seibukan Jujutsu community as a whole.
As a student in the adults class, I can say without hesitation that this is the best self defense martial art that a person can take and the atmosphere at the Contra Costa Budokan dojo is supportive

About a year and a half ago, my 7-year old son decided he wanted to be a ninja. Out of the blue, my husband declared that he, too, had always wanted to be a ninja, so they signed themselves and my 5-year old daughter up at Contra Costa Budokan for jujutsu classes. All three have loved it since the very first class. I was impressed right away with how great Jon, the owner, is at getting kids to understand concepts like goal-setting, taking initiative, and facing their fears. This martial art is not just excellent training in self-defense, it is a self-improvement journey that doesn’t feel like

I saw them perform at the Kids Fest that was this past weekend. The teachers here are friendly and work with people of all ages in practicing jiujitsu and self-defense techniques. They were one of the few places I saw that mentioned how much it was to attend their school per month, but they are worth going to. They also train to traditional Japanese music instead of modern dance/techno or workout music, which I find makes them unique compared to other schools.
