Touyou No Chie
A martial art that emphasizes on using your opponents energy or momentum against them. Using techniques with joint manipulation, striking redirection, weapon disarmament, and much more. A martial art that emphasizes efficiency. Using principles like torque and balance, a person of small stature may take down a person who is bigger.

Using techniques like throws, pins, submissions, sweeps, take downs and much more. Using a combination of workout and exercises from martial arts and Kinesiology, you get stronger, faster, and more fit in a custom fashion. Somewhere between plyometrics, cardiovascular, pilates, circuit training, and good ol' punching bag hitting you get the fun high energy class that is combat conditioning.
Services
Originally we were just a group of martial artists that needed a place where we could gather to train multiple times a week. We were led by recent black belt then, Derek Baure Sensei, and we trained for several hours every weekend to hone our skills, improve our techniques and then became closer than just training buddies.

I’ve been training with Sensei Derek for 4 years now, and I still learn something new every class! They do a fabulous job adapting techniques and teaching styles for every student (e.g. working around injuries). Whether you are considering your first martial arts class or planning to train to compete in national competitions, this is a great place to train.

A few years ago I've been wanting to get back into martial arts but I couldn't decide what I wanted to do. A friend of mine brought me to this dojo and I couldn't ask for a better dojo family. This dojo is so welcoming and supportive I don't think I would be where I am today if my friend didn't invite me to train. Sensei Derek is an amazing instructor and very knowledgeable. I feel he goes above and beyond to help his students when they're struggling in class.
I definitely recommend this dojo if you're looking for a fun and inviting atmosphere!

I came into team TNC several years ago and was pleasantly surprised that they teach throws and takedowns in addition to groundwork, unlike a lot of jujitsu schools. The instructors and students were very friendly and welcoming, and were extremely patient with me and my lack if athletic ability. Definitely come here if you're looking for a fun and easy place to train and learn.

Been training Under sensei Derek for close to 5 years and his teaching methods are amazing, the atmosphere of the class makes it feel like a family. Everyone helps each other and encourages each other to practice and polish their skills while still having fun. Coming here is something you won't regret

The dojo is a good place to study traditional martial arts. Sensei Derek is an experienced martial artist who has competed within Jujitsu America and US Judo Association so if you’re looking to grapple in those circuits he is a great coach and connection to have in the martial arts inner circle. They teach Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and Aikido and are more technically sound compared to many gyms I’ve visited. He has been recognized with highest recognition within Jujitsu America as well. Hope ya’ll check him out.

TNC has always been very friendly and welcoming. They’re always excited to see new people and there’s no shortage of things to learn. You can tell Sensei Derek and all the other instructors care as they work with everyone to make sure techniques are understood and answer any questions that come up.
All in all, the environment is warm and welcoming and there’s always something to learn, regardless of experience or age.

From the two years I trained here, it was amazing. Environment is always welcoming. It was like you were family. Sensei Derek and the fellow dojo mates took the time to get to know you and if you needed help, you got it. Beginners always got an intro before going in and training. You were never thrown to sharks on your first day. I recommend Touyou No Chie for martial arts and self defense.

You're not going to be disappointed by this Dojo. I'm not a Jujitsu or Aikido practitioner but after one visit I spent 3 years training here. The student's and Sensei are all very welcoming and eager to help you progress. Their skill level is impressive.
Sensei Baure is invested in his students progress most of all, both mentally and physically. Calm and firm, he is the ideal teacher. I was in a rough place in my life when I started coming to TNC. I found myself, and an amazing group of people in the process.

When I first came into Touyou no Chie I was a blown away by how affordable they were compared to other martial arts schools in the area. For the quality of training they offered they could've easily charged double or even triple their asking price, but their focus has always been quality and affordability over profit. I felt at home right away once I started training, unlike other places I tried where it very much felt like I was an outsider. Definitely the best place to go for quality and affordable training.

Sensei Derek is an excellent instructor and has an amazing level of knowledge of martial arts. He maintains a very high level of professionalism in his classes that would honor even the traditional martial artists, however, he keeps it lighthearted and fun enough for everyone to enjoy. 10/10 would recommend giving one of these classes a try if you're curious about learning martial arts everything from beginning to advanced Sensei Derek is you're guy.

Two thumbs up for the quality of training you get here. From individualized workouts to fully diverse classes they offer world class instruction. Sensei Derek was voted 2017 Instructor of the Year! Plus you add Senpai Nick who was part of Team USA at the 2019 World Games, Senpai Lily 2016 National Self-Defense champion, and Sensei Greg 2016 National Jujitsu Kata champion. You get the some of the best quality martial art instruction at a low price.

I have been training with Sensei Derek for almost 6 years. He is an amazing sensei and a great instructor to condition and push the limits of your discipline. You could not ask for a more excited group of people which will be your fellow classmates to invite, encourage and grow with in these classes. Sensei Derek teaches three (3) separate rhetoric classes: Japanese Aikido, Japanese Jujitsu and Combat Conditioning. Each of these classes will teach you exercises, stretches, meditative drills and much more to test the limits of the student. That sounds extreme however it is worth it. His classes

The instructors are very good. I've trained with them long before they were black belts and they definitely know what they're doing.

Training is intense but supportive for you to grow your skills and it's a good community of fellow martial artists.

Take a class, see for yourself, and decide for yourself.
