The Bigotti family started their history of fine Tuscan cuisine with their restaurant in Oakland, then Marcello's in Danville, and opened Il Pavone in 1991. We are regulars because we love your restaurant, the staff (you have the nicest waiters in CC County - the world), the wonderful chef and the friendliest owners! Everything is always perfect! I went in to order takeout being brand new to the area. The door said masks required which I appreciated, though when I entered and was reviewing the menu 2 men were at the bar very near without masks and talking loudly about how their preferred politician lost because of women and how they should have never been given the right to vote. They loudly decried their lack of ability to think “right”. I left immediately unable to tolerate the environment to order. I was not sure if one of the guys was the owner, but his gesticulated and spoke as if he owned the place. Whoever the owner is was not

Greetings fellow diners...I am writing tonight after returning from dinner with my partner + one of my best friends. Let me preface this review to say that all 3 of us have eaten here many times, either as a group, individually or with others since we moved to Rossmoor 8 years ago & we are very fortunate to have a good solid restaurant that is close by that has continuously maintained a lovely dining experience. The service is great & all the staff has been there for some time. The food is fresh, prepared carefully & one is never rushed during a night out.

Service was great! Loved the ambiance! The food was awesome! Went for lunch and had the carbonara pasta, sausage pizza, bread pudding and tiramisu! My son, 6, had the ravioli which was really great too. He ate a whole order and scraped his dish for sauce! My husband and I were already planning a date night before dessert came! They have a very cool looking bar where I would like to check out the martinis that got such rave reviews! Best Italian food I've had this side of the Mississippi and probably the other side too! East coast transplants finally found a solid Italian restaurant!!!!

Wonderful food but about your server Brian: loud, overbearing, forgetful, rushed and drunk. We heard him apologizing profusely to tables all the way across the room because he was rushing everyone. A lot of people would take pride in this job, please tell him to be mindful when he waits tables at a classy establishment.

These guys are our neighbors, so I'm a little biased, but if you're looking for a solid, reliable Italian restaurant this is your place. Their bruschetta is above average (which is good; generally, bruschetta is pretty meh; this bruschetta is good). I'm a vegetarian, so can only speak for their vegetarian pastas, but they're healthy portions of pretty good pasta. My husband has tried a few meat entrees and says they're good too. I'm a little shocked at the poor reviews, but whatever, stay away so we don't have to wait. Yes, this is a favorite spot for locals (especially Rosmoor); but that means we can typically get seats at 6:30 as the older crowd starts to leave. Absolutely love the old world feel and love sitting at the bar. Pietra (sp?) the bartender makes the best "just a hair dirty" Tito's martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Rack of Lamb - ay chee wah wah - perfect; I love that damn sauce. Oh, and the special "Servilleta" pasta special around the holidays is to die for. I love

One of the most authentic Italian restaurants in town. The chef is one of the owners here & it shows how much pride he takes in every dish here. Home cured meats, seasoned meat dishes to perfection, and omg the tiramisu. If you haven't tried the pesto here you should give it a try. There isn't one thing on the menu I wouldn't order & that says a lot, because at most restaurants I stick to my favorites. I think every entree here sparks my refined palate.

First time ordering pizza and salad here. The sausage pizza was incredible and the butter salad was out of this world. This place goes the extra mile with fresh unique ingredients.
We also ordered an olive and mushroom pizza that was heavenly.
The staff is super super friendly and they have a great set up for carry out.

Before covid we loved to stop in and sit down to have a meal when we would pass thru Walnut Creek.
Thankfully takeout is prompt and they are now serving PIZZA! We had the chance to try a family recipe pasta last visit that was absolutely delicious! Glad to see il pavone serving consistently good food during these tough times!

Ordered spaghetti and meatballs, chicken fettuccine and garlic bread. All were amazing. Veal meatballs are tender and flavorful. Chicken fettuccine is not drowned in Alfredo Sauce....chicken is char grilled delivering awesome flavor you don't get from regular grilled chicken. Don't miss out on the garlic bread! The best ever. Fortunately, I had to share but, left to my own devices I would have eaten it all myself. Srsly :-)

We didn't bother to make dinner reservations. Thought it would be an in/out thing. Thankfully the staff is extremely accommodating. There was only one seat available at the bar, but they somehow managed to find another chair somewhere in the back and squeezed us in. Told us we could hang out there until a table opened up. We decided to just order dinner and make things easy. Although our chairs were far from being on the same level, it was totally cool to see the level of accommodation offered. Will be back for sure!
