I had an emergency this past weekend. Had to go to emergency room, then admitted. Everyone was very nice and professional. It is a small hospital and like all small hospitals now they are swamped, but I received really good care. Very clean, nurses very attentive to my needs, follow up call after discharge to see if I was OK.
Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is they couldn't run one test due to staffing but they explained this in detail to me.
Thank you to all.

This is among the worst hospitals ever. If you're ever in an accident or get seriously sick while in this area, go somewhere else. Mt. Airy N.C., Whyteville, Pulaski and Dublin have better hospitals. I would highly suggest Radford Hospital if you can hold on long enough to get there.

Beware. They outsource their ER doctors to unqualified doctors.
McCarter is a poorly equipped physician. You are better off going to Web Md and treating yourself.

This hospital doesnt deserve one star but in order to do a review I had to give thwm one star. I have been here in the past and agaon just yesterday and have always regreted it. Many others that I talk to have had terrible experiences just as I did the other day. I went to the ER for my shoulder and arm pain and the doctor did back xrays and said I was fine. I repeated that I was there for my shoulder and arm and they said that I needed to make an appointment with my primary care! I already told them that I didnt have a primary care but they rushed me out anyway. Do not ever go to this hospital

Have tried to give them another chance, but never again. Mom spent 9 days there, no diagnosis, refused to transfer to another hospital. Walked in to ER with breathing difficulties and was discharged to rehab on a stretcher. No diagnosis, she had just decided to "give up". They were told she had COPD and chronic heart failure and needed to be where they had cardio and pulmonary, but would not transfer her. Every department you contact is another voice mail that never gets returned. Unless you are bleeding to death or know you can't make it to another hospital, avoid them. They do have wonderful

I was very impressed with the services, the confidence of the surgical staff, Dr Post was great explaining the procedure and giving us all the answers we need it, the care the nurses provided, keeping me abreast of my progress, Dr Boggs, Dr Bolen were very professional.
