Whether you are planning ahead or have experienced a loss, our funeral directors and staff are prepared to help you with any questions you may have. Services
A funeral represents a purposeful opportunity to reflect on the meaning of a life that has been lived and to determine the impact of that meaning for the family and friends. There is no single proper funeral service. It is a time for human sharing in its deepest sense. You and the ones you love are at the very center of the process, and the choices you make will determine its significance for you.
The following program is designed to allow us to better serve you during your time of loss. If you have not already scheduled a meeting with one of our Funeral Directors, please contact us at 757-399-4661. Note: This information is used to create the official Death Certificate for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
After the loss of a loved one, you will probably have a lot of questions about Social Security benefits. We at Corprew Funeral Home will file a statement of death with the Social Security Administration on your family's behalf. You will not need a certified copy of the death certificate for this filing.
At Corprew Funeral Home, we honor our veterans by assisting their families by obtaining all veterans' benefits, Social Security benefits and life insurance benefits. VA burial allowances are partial reimbursements of an eligible Veteran's burial and funeral costs. To be eligible you must be a veteran discharged or separated from active duty under conditions other than dishonorable, and have completed the required period of service.
When death touches the family of someone we love, we often ask the question, "Is there anything I can do?" We mean it sincerely, but sometimes we simply don't know what to do; the person we want to help may be hesitant to ask for anything specific or may simply not be able to identify the help they need at this time.
