Services
EMDR therapy is a therapeutic exercise that changes how experiences are perceived, stored, and retrieved in your brain. The acronym EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. That's a mouthful, so let's unpack it. Eye Movement: Think about REM sleep. During this cycle, your eyes move back and forth, your brain activity increases, you dream, and process information.
If you are a Christian, you may feel guilty to realize that you need or want professional therapy. You may fear that your relationship challenges or emotional struggles are evidence of spiritual weakness. You may have even begun to question the validity of your faith and asked yourself, "If I am a new creation in Christ, why am I still plagued with many of the hurts, habits, and hangups of my old life?"
There are many different ways to conceptualize trauma. The most basic way is to view it as a mental injury. Traumatic events are events that psychologically injure us. The impact of these events can be very subjective. Just as two people can be out in the sun for the exact same amount of time and walk away with different degrees of sunburn, two people can experience the same event and walk away with different levels of trauma.
Decades ago, people only went to the doctor when they were sick. We now know that it is wise to take advantage of access to many forms of proactive medical care. Similarly, counseling for teens has been historically viewed as an option to consider if an adolescent is troubled and obviously struggling.

The staff at Boundless Hope are incredibly friendly and intentional, especially Mitchell Zak. I cant say enough good things about Mitchell which warrants my review. A superb listener, extremely intelligent but also very easy to talk and relate to. He has helped me tremendously as I have struggled with mental illness. After speaking with Mitchell on a weekly basis I’ve noticed a significant increase in confidence and self worth. I highly recommend Mitchell to anyone looking looking to improve themselves mentally, relationally, spiritually and emotionally.

Karissa Manchester has been such a beacon of light to me! Not only is she tender, compassionate and kind, she also has a firm yet gentle manner when needed. The example, knowledge and experience she brings to the table allows a trust that is seldom comparable. I would recommend her services to all that I know and also to friends that are bi lingual, as she is fluent in English and Spanish. It was an enormous relief to find Boundless Hope! Christie Rios is both inspiring and extremely helpful. She is professional, knowledgeable, and is able to flex to meet the needs of each session. Knowing that progress is only made by stepping out of our comfort zones, Christie is able to balance the problem-solving of therapy and listening/discussing with compassion and empathy to ensure that each client is comfortable throughout. As a person living with mental illness and having experienced a lot of trauma, I have seen multiple therapists over the last two and a half decades. I was a client of Jolene's at a very difficult point in my life and she stands out as one of the best counselors I have seen.

Jolene is truly amazing. Not only is she a Beautiful person inside and out, she helps you make sense of life when it just doesn’t seem to be clicking.
