MPPP understands that young children are in a crucial period of development, physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually. They need understanding and guidance that respects their individual developmental levels. At MPPP, the work of children is play. Play is an avenue of learning.

There will be many opportunities for looking, touching, listening, moving, tasting and smelling in order for children to discover more about themselves and the world around them. They will have opportunities, through play experiences, to build relationships with others and learn how to manage feelings.
Services
Modesto Parent Participation Preschool, established in 1970, is founded on the principle that the best education results from an active partnership among parents, teachers, and children. Our philosophy embraces the idea that our children learn best through play, and we provide a rich learning and playing environment where parents and children experience child development together.
The preschool is divided up into three main areas: Room 1, Room 2, and Outside. One working parent is assigned to each area, while the teacher and any other working parents are rovers, visiting all areas, and focusing on children's areas of interest. Our day begins at 9:00 a.m. Although it is wonderful to have our students here for the entire preschool day, we understand that mornings can sometimes run late.
As a cooperative preschool, MPPP keeps costs low and adult-child ratios high by having parents work in the classroom and participate in all other aspects of running the preschool. In our preschool classes, parents participates as a teaching assistant in the classroom approximately once every other week throughout the school year.
Modesto Parent Participation Preschool is a non-profit organization, and your donations are tax deductible. We appreciate your support! Monetary donations help MPPP invest in new equipment, offer scholarships, and complete special projects. Funds you donate can be allocated to an area of interest to you, and they are tax deductible.
