I contacted Summersett Funeral Home several days ago and spoke to a funeral director about services for my brother. I don't know if it was because I didn't live in Salisbury or because they were not familiar with my brother's name (he lived in Salisbury) but this "director" proceeded to do everything he could do discourage me from using their services. He was condescending, arrogant and kept coming back to payment up front. I fully expected to pay for services at planning but I did not expect a funeral director to behave in such a manner. I attended my sister-in-law's funeral service on Wednesday, April 14th at 2 in the afternoon. The funeral was held at The Arbor United Methodist Cemetary. This was the most unorganized, embarrassing funeral service I have ever attended. I felt so sorry for my Brother.
The weather was hot which I realize you had no control over, however; There were a lot of elderly people in attendance with canes, walkers, etc.. These people had to park up at the church and walk appro6a quarter mile in the hot sun because there was no one to instruct them to drive down to the grave site. Even little cardboard signs

Our dear precious mom (virginia swink huffman) passed too be with our LORD April 28th, 2014. Summersett Funeral Home were very kind too our family during our time of loss. They walked our family with respect through every aspect of the service and things needed to complete the final moment of farewell. They are very compassionate and caring people, who understand what you are going thru. Your family will not be treated any less than with respect and dignity for you and your family at that time of loss. Summersett is the BEST.

Great family owned funeral home! I have called upon them on two occasions to help me by having a licensed funeral director accompany my staff at the the graveside at Salisbury National Cemetery and both times they did not charge me and did it just as a professional courtesy. In the day and age of "Corporate Owned" funeral homes who charge for every little thing they do for someone, it is a relief to know that family owned firms like Summersett Funeral Home exist to help not just their families that call on them but also their colleagues. Kudos to Summersett Funeral Home!
