Turner Funeral Homes
Established in 1936, Turner Funeral Home is the oldest funeral home in Chattanooga still locally owned and operated by the founding family. As the only "Golden Rule" funeral home in Chattanooga, we provide families a personalized service with respect, dignity and care. These principals and values have made Turner Funeral Home a leader in our community for over 85 years.

We offer meaningful burial and cremation services to honor the life of a loved one all at one location. We offer families full or basic funeral services that include a traditional chapel, graveside or church funeral with burial or cremation following. For families wanting cremation services, we offer a range of options from a 'Celebration of Life' service in our chapel, to family and public gatherings to a direct cremation service.
Services
Established in 1936 by Eugene Turner, Turner Funeral Home was located on Dodds Ave in the community known as Ridgedale. Sitting at the foot of Missionary Ridge, the Turner family started their funeral home in a small, quaint, white house. Several years and several building additions later, Mr. Turner, his wife Nell, and his family acquired some more property beside the original white house.
Staff members of Turner Funeral Home are caring and experienced family service professionals. They understand that each family they serve is unique. They know that every family has their own personal requests and traditions and they help them complete these arrangements for their loved one in a caring and thorough manner.
Turner Funeral Home is centrally located in the Chattanooga area and is convenient to all city and County cemeteries. We have very large parlors that are very spacious and can accommodate large families and friends for your loved one's gathering. We can arrange for any type of funeral, memorial service, cremation, or celebration of life service in our funeral home chapel.
Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

The directors who brought my friend Ruby Green to the National Cemetery were very well dressed and professional in their service. They stood respectfully as the funeral discourse was delivered, and that was appreciated. The white casket looked very nice with the red rose blanket. The same funeral home provided my grandfather's service at the national cemetery.

So incredibly helpful during such a terrible time. Both Rachel and Brian helped guide me through a process that I knew nothing about.
