Came here for a gender-affirming haircut and the hairdresser, Dallas, made my 90's DiCaprio dreams come true. Everyone was really kinda and took great care of me and my hair, and i loved the products they used, everything feels great and smells so good. Thanks again!

I loved my experience here! My appointment started right on time with a wonderful wash, followed by a great haircut from Dallas. He has really great attention to detail and was meticulous about the cut. He also took time to blow dry my hair, which I *really* appreciated. Most other places I've been to (and paid the same amount at) just blowdry with high heat to get you in and out ASAP.

Plus: the studio is clean (and covid conscious), plays great music and has some really cool art you can admire during your cut / styling. I'm so sad I'm not local to NoLa and can't get my haircut

I was in need of a blowout and decided to walk in and ask if anyone was available. I'm so glad that I did! Cathleen not only gave me a great blowout but also gave me a much needed cut. She took her time with my very thick, curly, frizzy hair and I left very pleased. I will definitely be back!

I have been going to Dallas for years. He have magic hands and is very knowlegable about his craft. I have a serious colic in the front of my hair and he is the only stylist in New Orleans who is able to tame it. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staffing is really nice. I totally trust him to style my hair however he see fit. I totally love this salon and Dallas!

My first experience with this salon was wonderful. I have long thick hair and often stylist leave it not as smooth as I like it. The girl, Tiffany, did a fantastic job. I will return. Atmosphere is top notch.

I was in town visiting friends when one of my buddies decided to give me a hard time over always having the same haircut. (Grow it long, buzz, repeat). I was coming due for a cut and decided what the hell I want Adam to shut it. His girlfriend referred Tiffany here at Salon Du Beau. We made a day of it, the journey from buzzcut to style, had a boozy brunch to say good bye to unstyled hair and sat in the chair at the mercy of Tiffany's talents. Tiffany was a total blast. Not only did she pull off a really cool haircut, she was so nice, friendly and just a real pleasure while taking sharp objects

Worst haircut ever! I have a very basis bob haircut, went in for a roots touch up and trim. Tiffany hacked inches off of my hair and told me I needed softer edges! I had to argue with her to get her to stop cutting after 3 hours! She destroyed my hair.

So glad I took the chance! Having just recently located to New Orleans it was scary to find a new salon. After all I need someone with good color skills to maintain my youthful look- haha!! No, seriously I landed in the right place, with the right stylist (Jacob)!! He recomended a color technique that no other place ever recommended, and it turned out FABULOUS!! Best cut and color I have ever had!! I found my new place...and I can walk there, even better!!

I have been going to Salon du Beau Monde, to Dallas, since moving here to New Orleans in late 2009. The match was successful from the beginning---it's the only salon in NOLA I've ever been to In all that time! I've been consistently happy with both the cut and the color. I have fine hair, and Dallas' cuts make it look thicker than I thought possible. I get compliments on my hair all the time, and my hair is nearly always easy to manage---the well-recognized sign of a good haircut.

Had a last minute invitation to dinner, and decided to treat myself to a shampoo and blow dry. Cathleen was my stylist, and did a wonderful job (I have very thick, water absorbent hair... not easy to dry). She is very personable, and we chatted like old friends. I highly recommend Cathleen!

Gave the hair stylist another chance mostly because of the connivence - they are open late and are a couple of blocks from my place.

The second time, I displayed images and explained what I was looking for, low taper sides blended in with the long length on top. The guy didn't bother to ask any questions nor explain back what he planned to do, so I assumed he understood. I ended up with a straight shaves on the side with no blending at the edges. I am very disappointed because it took a long time to grow it out, plus I'm meeting my girlfriend's family for the first time this

Found this place by accident and decided to give it a go. Called to make an appointment and got a slot the same day with Kelly who is great. Great service, friendly staff, left feeling happy. Will defibe going back again.

My girlfriend had a horrible knot, I visited several hair salons throughout New Orleans and each one had told us we needed to do a very short cut on her hair. After finding this gem in downtown we spoke with Mr. Dallas who with expertise solved this for us and her hair was not lost, maintained its length. It's an extreme rarity to find this level of professionalism and expertise in the hair industry when so many would just say there is nothing they could do. Will be back anytime and Everytime a cut is needed.

Kelly was my stylist and she did an amazing job on my haircut. Took her time to make sure the cut was just the way I liked it. Even got a shampoo. Her friendly persona made me feel at home even when I 2000 miles from it. Got styling tips and product recommendations. Plus the price was very reasonable. Great experience.

Salon Du Beau Monde is a charming salon with top notch hairdressers. The work put in by my stylist, Sara, is unparalleled in the field of cosmetologists. Being a former hairdresser myself, I was so impressed with not only the quality of Sara's work, but the amount of work.
The salon is old world charm. The street car of New Orleans passes right by the front door. New Orleans is famous not only for our food, but our architecture as well. The salon is housed in an enchanting building. Even the "tour" to the restroom is like a walk through time.

My experience at Salon Du Beau Monde was of a total different caliber than any I'd received at any other salon in the city. The Salon is beautiful- Aside from the modern & classic fusion decor inside the salon; the art (from some well known New Orleans artists) is incredible.

I flew into New Orleans from DC today, hating my hair and wanting to do something about it. Armed with a picture I booked an appointment at Salon Du Beau Monde. Happy Day! Sarah was able to fit me in this afternoon, assessed the photo and took to giving me EXACTLY what I wanted. I feel GREAT! Nice atmosphere, great job...affordable. My problem now is I have to fly down to New Orleans every 6-8 weeks! Go to Salon Du Beau Monde - you'll be glad you did.

This is less of a review of the salon as a whole and more of a review of my experience as a man who's had his hair cut by the owner and lead stylist Dallas for 2+ years now. I can't speak to women's cuts/styles or any of the other stylists that work and operate here, though they all seem very friendly:

1. Dallas. One of the nicer guys you'll meet in the industry, also one of the most talented. He's the only guy in NOLA I'll let touch my hair anymore. He typically does women's hair but I've never walked out less than happy with my cut. Long story short, dude

After reading raving reviews about this salon and about Dallas I decided to treat myself with a great color job while visiting New Orleans. 2 hours and 330.00 later I'm just not sure it was worth it. I could barely tell that my hair was colored and it looks NOTHING like the photos I showed him. I'm not sure exactly what happened? I also noticed it was pretty barren the entire time I was there.....most salons that are well known and highly recommended are pretty busy right? It wasn't horrid, but wasn't worth the time and money. I have no doubt NO ONE will know that anything

High quality salon with great service right in the heart of New Orleans. I am not one to go out of my way to get a haircut, but I had heard good things about this place and gave it a try.
I was not disappointed. Dallas consulted me on what I wanted in the haircut, and he took it from there. He gave me a new look that I am very pleased with. I highly recommend this salon.

Just had my haircut at Salon Du Beau Monde recently. Having just moved over from their Julia Street location, the new digs look great! I got the royal treatment from the time I walked in the door, and Dallas did an amazing job with my haircut. I didn't really know what I wanted when I went in, but with Dallas' help, I walked out very please with my new look.

I thought that I reviewed this place long ago, but maybe I was trying to keep it a secret. Well, I don't mind sharing now because my favorite hairstylist left. It's okay though because Mandy moved just a few blocks away to the Beauty Lounge. Glad she has good vibes at her new place.

I can't speak for other stylists here, but the salon is pretty nice and has a good locale. The products are Aveda.

Fabulous service, Dallas is a dream! He's one of the best colorists in New Orleans, bar none. I couldn't be happier with my experience with this salon since becoming a customer there in 2010 after I decided I was dissatisfied with my previous stylist. Dallas is good at correcting the work of others so that was huge for me.

Edited June 2013 to add: As you can see, many of these glowing reviews (including mine) reference DeShea. She has recently moved to a competing salon (Stardust on Magazine St). I was unimpressed, to say the least, by the borderline libelous email Salon Du Beau Monde sent to its entire distribution list in the wake of her departure. Completely classless to drag customers into what should have remained an internal dispute. I prefer my haircuts drama free, and therefore will not return.

I've been getting my hair cut by DeShea at Salon du Beau Monde since I moved to New Orleans in 2008

Worst haircut I have ever gotten, two days before I was a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding. I asked for a bang trim, just to get them out of my eyes, and when I closed my eyes for the trim the stylist cut them in a jagged semi-circle at least an inch and a half above my eyebrows.

Then, to make these freaky French mod/albino monk in Da Vinci code bangs look more "in tune" with the rest of my hair, the stylist gave me a similarly jagged, uneven pixie cut. This is after I spent the last 5 months growing my hair out after my last pixie cut. At least I only paid $40.
