Maria Bonita the Authentic Mexican Restaurant was created in 2017 by the Martinez family and is dedicated to serving authentic Mexican dishes made from the freshest local ingredients. Our owners Rigo and Guadalupe Martinez have brought their favorite family recipes which have been passed down for generations from Oaxaca and Morelos in Mexico to you here in our convenient Hackettstown, NJ location.

Maria Bonita the Authentic Mexican Restaurant not only provides you with the best in Mexican food but also the best in margaritas, pina coladas, mojitos, draft and bottled beers, and red and white wine. Join us for happy hour every Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM for $5 per glass wine on Wednesdays, tacos and beer for $12 Monday-Thursday, and $25 tequila flights on Tuesday and Thursday.

If I could give a zero star I would love to do that. Please avoid this place. This is not a real Mexican restaurant. The funny thing is that all these caucasians think they are eating real Mexican food. A Hispanic will Definitely agree with me. I have never regretted paying so much money and hate the food. The food was dry, cold, no taste, the alcohol drinks? Ufff disgusting. The only good thing they did was the steak and the guacamole. You won’t see Hispanic waitress here and the chefs are Caucasian as well. They try though. They try to make it feel like it’s a Mexican restaurant but it’s

Delicious, authentic Mexican food served in a pub atmosphere. On a recent visit my wife ordered a steak burrito, which was at least twice as large as she could consume in one sitting, and filled with amazingly tender steak perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had the pernil enchilado, the pork was fall-off-the-bone tender, the corn tortillas were home made and the rice and beans were a perfect accompaniment. If you're a fan of Mexican cuisine don't miss Maria Bonita.

We were excited to have some quality Mexican Food, and the food was delicious... but... it took nearly an hour to see it. If you have ever had a 3yr old, you know where this is going. We regularly go out to eat with our 3 yr old, we employed all the tricks, games, toys, more games, chinese fire drill seating, take a trip to the car for reset, even the last line of defense, you tube videos. But an hour is just too long for a hungry toddler to sit. To compound the problem, after 20 minutes waiting for the appetizer she tells us they are out of a key ingredient, we accept it without it, it eventually

Really nice outdoor dining atmosphere!
Was driving by and saw this fantastic colorful restaurant. Service was good, food was excellent. Their guacamole was quite fresh and tasty, same as the salsa for the chips. They have specialities and also vegetarian options.
As we were there, we noticed that now with the outdoor dining they are pet friendly. You must definitely try!
