Been here a while. Seen the ups and downs. The way this school has thrived this past year has been nothing short of amazing. The current capacity that is near full, speaks of parents and students who have experienced, and are confident of, the safe and clean environment this school maintains. Above all, still teaching kids and students the importance of daily discipline and respect.
Great job to professor and his staff here!

My 10-year old son spent the summer with Gracie Barra's online program and he really enjoyed the activities. I was just about to sign him up today for in-person classes. I walked into their office space/lobby which had 2 parents and 3 students waiting without masks. Thinking that this is just a small incident, I peaked inside. All 20+ children and their instructors were NOT masked indoors. My son is in an outdoor soccer program and they have everyone keep their masks on. I want my son to have more physical opportunities but this is a little too risky for me. You can go there and see

This place is awesome! They have classes 6 days per week, and convenient class times. They have kids classes and adult classes. Instruction is top notch. If your goals are fitness, self defense, or competition training, this place will work great for you. The environment is family friendly and a wonderful place to learn.

If you're reading this review then you were just like me at one point: you're on the fence about BJJ and you're not sure where to start. I ended up bookmarking this place along with two other schools. This was the first one (and last one) I ended up visiting. It's been two years and I feel like I should finally write a review, so people who read this know how special this place is. I want to share the top three things that keep me coming back:

1. Instructions

The Professors and Coaches are amazing. They are very knowledgeable, patient, and positive. They breakdown each

Very pleased we put our daughter in jiu jitsu here at the Gracie Barra garden grove location. From day 1 coach Alex and coach Justin welcomed my daughter Peyton with open arms. They were and still are very patient and thorough with her and all other students. She is learning something new weekly and her love for this sport has continuously grown. Every week the coaches lead by example. They are very involved with every student. They know them all by name from day 1. They come in with such positivity it radiates. My daughter has never shown such passion for a sport and she's been playing soccer

If you're thinking about taking up Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or getting your kids into it, Professor Alex's professionalism and dedication to his students are second to none. As great as an instructor he is with the adult classes, Professor Alex is even better with the kids classes. His teaching style makes even the more difficult techniques easier and fun to learn. Even if you don't live in the Garden Grove area, no matter how long the drive time is to get to Gracie Barra Garden Grove, the opportunity to learn from Professor Alex, his coaches and to train with the Team will absolutely

I put 2 of my kids in jujitsu here( skyli and Tom). I hesitated but this was the best thing I could've ever done for both of my kids. Not only that they have built their self-confidence but we feel really confident in themselves when they speak to others. It has taught them so many good things, behaviors, how to control themselves with others when they're being mean to them. to ignore the bad and Move on. I couldn't be more happier with the staffs here they have been so great to my family. Great customer service !!! I highly recommend anyone who wants to join to come here they&apos

Clean and kid friendly! The coachs at this club is really good with kids, they understands and know how to communicate with different age groups. Good communication is the most important thing! If you cant communicate you wont be able to teach what you preach.
My son is more confident now thanks!

Love this place!!! This has made one of the biggest impacts on my nine year old son's life. We signed him up at age 7 he had severe sensory issues, didn't handle touch very well, huge meltdowns, almost zero focus. Luckily coach Alex is the most patient person one will ever meet. He is so great with my son and all the kids. My son now loves sparring, exercise, his classmates and the fun events at Gracie Barra. This discipline and enthusiasm gained through Gracie Barra has carried on to school and home.

Teaching jiu-jitsu is one of the hardest thing to teach, especially for kids, and not all black belt and not all champions can teach it. But Coach ALEX can REALLY TEACH (even kids)!!
The coaches are very friendly and approachable, Coach Alex's teaching method is unequaled. He teaches techniques that kids easily understand. And that makes the kids not wanting to miss any classes. This makes kids' journey on learning jiujitsu much easier. Everybody treats everyone as a family.
Whether you're looking to learn self-defense, or for fitness or even going for competition. The coaches know

I've been at Gracie Barra Garden Grove for a few months now; previously I trained at another academy and would drop-in about once a week at GBGG. Eventually, those once a week drop-ins turned to training all week at the academy. From the very beginning Professor Alex was very friendly, enthusiastic, and welcoming. You can see the passion, dedication and motivation Alex has for teaching/training Jiu-Jitsu; especially when it comes to the kids program. Whatever you're goals are (competing, self-defense, working out, etc.) Alex and the team here are dedicated to helping you achieve them.

I was looking for a sport to get involved with and I went to try out this place because a friend had told me about it. I had the most amazing experience and workout. The instructors are so friendly and really know what they are doing. The people that were part of the class were really friendly and easy to talk to which made it even better. Being a girl I was intimated to try this but I was very surprised to see how well I fit in. The instructor Alex was super nice and really made it such a good experience.

Can't wait to go back!!

I started training at gracie barra last year and it's been an awesome experience. What I like best about gracie barra is you get a good workout but you are learning the most legit martial art that exists. With gracie barra Brazilian ju jitsui you don't advance through the ranks unless you earn it that's why all the colored belts you see rolling are always proficient. I feel like I got lucky with this particular school because I like everybody there so much. The atmosphere is relaxed enough so you will feel comfortable starting out but you will be pushed to go the extra mile. Professor

This location is awesome. I am new to the sport and have been timid to begin for months. I am glad to say I got such a warm welcome at this place, I definitely relaxed and was immediately excited to try it out. It's very beginner friendly. I didn't know anything and they didn't expect me to.

Firstly, the instructors really made me feel comfortable knowing I don't have any experience in combat sports, and they took the time to go through my own goals with me. I'm not exactly looking to get into the UFC anytime soon... Just a new hobby and getting fit. That's what made
