Dr. Shahry is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry in 1992. She completed her general practice residency at Flushing Hospital in New York, an affiliate of Albert Einstein School of Medicine. She attended Temple University for undergraduate studies. She is a dean's faculty member at the University of Maryland and enjoys teaching on a part-time basis.
She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Harford-Cecil Implant Dentistry Study Club and Bel Air Rotary Club. She is the current President of Harford-Cecil Dental Society and Co-chairman of Diversity for the Maryland State Dental Association. Dr. Shahry has resided in Harford County with her family since 1994.

Went for a recent dental appointment, that assistant grabbed my lip and loudly stated, 'loosen your lip, you're tensed!' Well, she came very close from getting her wrist twisted-just by mere reaction! What the hell do you expect with four hands maneuvering in and around your mouth? So I think to avoid a negative impact from their staff negativity--and doing something regretting it..
